Although I'm a big fan of Ince, I'd rather if the rumours are true go for Antonio from the dogs, beast.

Give him an Ince and he'll take a mile.
Hope we don't sign Ince. Good player who turn a game on his own but not a team player.

Yes he turned the Birmingham game on his own.

That's the other reason. He is a liability when attempting to defend.
I don't think that Clement will be as gung ho about attacking as McClaren was at the end of his rein so Ince's defensive lapses might not be as costly.

I was told McClaren accepted the job in January then changed his mind, that's when Clement was sounded out. Let's concentrate on the future 🐑

There is no way Derby management is free from blame and shame over the McLaren affair. At best we were very badly organised over the whole process of changing Steve for Paul. At worst they were duplicitous and very possibly extremely incompetent.
We wanted Steve out. Newcastle wanted Steve and would have paid a substantial fee to get him. Instead we sacked Steve and paid him millions to leave.
And now we have a Chairman who wants to choose our transfer targets.
These are not happy indicators for our future wellbeing, though I am incredibly excited about the coming season and the unlimited possibilities the new regime might well bring. I am hopeful to be wrong in this but somewhere at the back of my mind there is nagging fear.

Ok Jorvik. Do you think it was smart to sack McL when Newcastle so obviously wanted him?
Do you think Clement should be told by Morris who to recruit?
Do you think things were totally under control over the changeover process?

Yes to your first point.
Who says Mel Morris is doing the recruiting? Don't they have a DoF in place?
