Now that we have a genuine creative midfielder in mata , when can some fans and the media start to admit Lampard is the weak link in the midfield?
He has lost the ability to make forward runs like he used to and is only really scoring from penalties. I found it hilarious that the media and fans would blame Essien, Mikel and Ramires for Chelsea's lack of creativityand ignore Lampard, who is meant to be the attacking player in the midfield.
If he wasn't seen as the English presence in a mostly foreign team, he would be getting more criticism. I think he has been very mediocre for the past couple years

Theres no reason why he shouldnt be eased out of the team and the likes of mceachran being given a chance

Excuse me but he was one of our biggest offenders in the big games last season
Where was he against Pool? At the Emirates? And in all 3 games against United? Was bossed around by carrick and an ancient Ryan Giggs
It was Ancelotti's pigheadedness and stubborn persistence with an off form Essien and a tired, aging Lampard that cost us last season
Seriously, what do we have to lose by trying McEachran?

Imo lamps should be used in the same way SAF used scholes. Yes he was one of the worst performers last year (especislly when we needed him) but he still has a lot to offer our team and maybe coming into big games he'll be fresh and hopefully can offer us a lot more.

Don't think anyone;s denying that. We need to be looking to use Lamps as United did with Giggs and Scholes. Bleed out of the first team in favour of youngsters and use him as an experienced squad player and example to the younger players
