WTF.
Apparently we are offering him a new contract. If there is any truth in this rumour from an unreliable source then Wenger really should be taken away by men in white coats. If we want to challenge for the title there is no room for passengers and hes been taking a squad lace for too long.

If he was any good then pay as you play would make sense. Ridiculous if true.

Mmm-hmmm...Same thing was said about RVP many times

Don't be silly. His quality/ability as a player has never ever been questioned (only admired). Yes his fitness record is beyond horrendous (that's the cost of those lovely tackles that football supposedly can't be played without) but he's a dam site more than "any good" and you know it.

Got no problem at all with as pay as you play deal whatsoever. We can afford the squad spot and it costs us little or no money unless he plays. He's quality so if he plays, he'll produce. And if by some miracle he manages to actually stay fit and keep playing then I expect nothing less than outstanding.
There's no doubt for me that him managing to stay fit will be somewhat akin to the unleashing of a raging midfield beast. The confidence and freedom in his play that will come from getting the fitness monkey off his back. Will actually result in him going from being the club's most injured player in history (guessing he's got to be), to looking dam near invincible on the pitch. So far from the injury ridden nightmare he's been, that we'll barely recognize him.
Also, we complain players have no heart. Well not in this boy's case. The level of heart and determination in Abou Diaby is to be nothing but admired. To STILL be at it, determined to succeed after all he's endured. You can't EVER totally write-off someone with that strength of character.
Pay as you play is fine by me.
ABBOOOOOOOOOUUUU!!!!!!

You may not think that a squad place matters. But in the over all arch of the season every position matters. Pay as you play doesn't work the way you think. You still have to pay a base salary and then it is compensated with extra payments based on appearances.
Why not invest money on a youngster or put towards another player who could be used?

If he does sign he'll be on a low wage, also heard he wasn't taking a wage when he's been injured in the last few years.

Diaby has been on pay per pay since September 2014 when he said he wouldn't take any wages. It was reported at the time he has had about £20m in wages in his time at Arsenal. Not a real hardship to not be paid after taking that much for doing fack all for years.
And as for those who back tis deal, you really think we can afford to keep doing this rather than brig in a player who can actually benefit the squad? All the talk of needing a DM for years and this sicknote had that spot in the squad.
