Good article here from the BBC about Sportstars these days

I wonder how you see this world now.
what appalls me in this day an age is the pointing of a finger at a Sportstar for being bad influence on children. I recall - as a child, Shane Warne was my favourite sportsman, he was a legend in my eyes, a wizard. i didnt grow up doing all the bad things he was accused of! My parents brought me up not be a complete fool and follow people. They taught me instead to "do whats right" use your morale compass.
IMO let these stars be "rockstars", at the end of the day, the celebrity world is like a "fiction" to us anyway. I'm sick of professional answers in interviews, "respect" for your opponent! NO LEWIS, WHEN NICO STOPS YOU QUALIFYING IN MONACO! CALL HIM A SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY! live on tele! So the world knows that your angry, your a human, and have a massive passion for success. Perhaps the influenced child might learn that if someone is taking the michael out of you, dont stand for it and stand up for yourself!
Formula 1, Football, Cricket, all needs some personalities! Some rockstars! Perhaps then we will see TV audiences rising!

Agree wholeheartedly. People are so quick to call them drones but when they show their true personalities, it is hang em!!
Too many sponsors influence the personality of sports men and women and it winds me up immensely.

yup thats what i was gonna say .... too many cameras means that the whole hears what you say and Sponsors have such a tight grip on their "products" that they can get sued very easily for not toeing the line at times. I agree its frustrating as hell watching drivers bitting their lips holding back their real feelings.

Its counter intuitive for the sponsors - people will get bored of corporate robots, meaning less viewers, less exposure. Humans should be allowed to be Humans!
