After a recent Twitter post by former Southampton player, the question has to be.....who doesn't like to WUM Liverpool.
Francis Benali @FrannyBenali
Struggled to sell this chair for weeks online, but just put this on it and Brendan Rodgers has bid £8M!!

plus they were saying last season how they were happy at being knocked out of the tournament by Besiktas because it was a burden - so thick you couldnt even make it up

Yeah, I was happy when we were knocked out. All the extra EL games were making a dent into my current account

Europa League is as good as it gets for Everton fans, yet here they are saying they don't want to play in it. Strange bunch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's also about your standard at the moment, over the last 5,6,7 seasons barring 1 freak season, you have either qualified for the europa or not qualified at all.
Get used to it neo,the big clubs in this league barring a major meltdown are always going to attract better managers and players and keep your hasbeen club in it's rightful place outside the top 4
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This just reinforces my point though. If as you claim those top 4 teams are always going to attract the better players and managers then that means Everton will never qualify for the Champions League.
Then we have Everton fans claiming to not want to be in the Europa League. Why is that exactly? So they can concentrate on the league better to possibly come 5th/6th, and qualify for the Europa League?
Alas- there are plenty of good reasons to be in the competition if not winning it. Large squads get to give young players gametime, more matches for the fans are just a couple.

Same question I put to you lot last season after Besiktas knocked you out - no one could answer, but you're right, i dont see either of us getting into the top 4 so the next best thing is the Europa

So you would want to be in the EL this season? I would, but not having to qualify just four weeks after the season ended as West Ham will be tonight

Yes I must admit to be in it at this early stage I don't think I would appreciate, I think Fulham had to do it under Roy didn't they, but it's another competition to try and win and it's better for the club to be in it than not.
I don't see what all the furore is tbh.

Personallafter being in the comp I woudl like to be back in, but if players get only four weeks rest after a long season I would like to skip it this season
