Was he really injured or did he just have enough? For me, if your hamstring has gone, you dont walk down the tunnel, pick a ball up and then boot it. Nothing up with him.
Of course though, its our players that "dont care about the club".Mr Van Der Vaart loves Spurs though, kicked up a fuss at every club hes been at. Im calling it now (i might turn out to be wrong) but he will have jumped ship before next season begins. John N17 deserves a special mention as well.
I actually think you'll finish 4th btw

He has a torn hamstring, it's been confirmed. He was angry the way the game turned out, and his own performance, he knew he had to go off once he suffered the injury. At least he's a winner and gives his all, which is more we can say for a lot of our other players.

You can understand why he was frustrated, he always seems to recover from injury and then pick up another knock. He never got up to full fitness, and now after having a full pre-season he probably expected to hit the ground running but things haven't gone our way, and then comes that injury. Pure frustration for him, and he's a passionate guy.
Where was it printed that Rafa kicked up a fuss at Ajax, Hamburg or Real? He was unhappy at not being played at Real so he left, which is normal.

For me he looks similar to Robinho. He was great in the sun but was largely ineffective during the middle of the season and when it gets tough. Think you missed Sandro today and Modric should just be sold if Chelsea offer 40m.

never got up to full fitness last season*

if its true he has definately torn his hamstring then fair enough. My advice would be to stop booting balls if you know your injured.
Last Monday and today he was still ineffective though. Telling me he is a winner when he was basically invisible as oppossed to 13 players who won 5.1 yet are apparently not winners.

He booted the ball with his uninjured leg btw, the thing I like about VDV is he shows real passion towards Tottenham unlike the other players. You can always tell that if he scores but we lost the game he is disappointed, and how he literally gave it all twice in the NLD

Going back to 4-4-2 will do us the world of good. Having two wingers but only one up top is down right silly.
VDV drops to deep he just gets in the way of our CMs. The vdv, Defoe partnership might have worked if rafa actually stayed up front and fed balls to Defoe instead of isolating the small striker. Why can't Harry see this? I really can't believe he has been a manager at the top for this long.
Stupid old 'av a go 'arry needs to open his droopy eyes, tell VDV to stay up front or not pick him at all.

Especially for you, DeadkneeLedley:
For the ones who don't understand why he collects the ball so deep is because the ballmovement from midfield is too slow. It's linked to a lack of proper movement from the forward players who can't make room for others or themselves to receive the ball: Also because the midfield is lacking the ability, will or vision to pick out the pass. I feel for vdv and understand his frustration.
