Is he a good player? Yes.
Are there better players? Yes.
Is he good enough to fit in with City's ambitions? No.

I'm not exactly weeping at him going. In the Cup Final Arsenal put him under pressure, and in those circumstances he hesitates, he misses good moves, he passes back or loses the ball. He might improve under those circumstances, but at the moment it's a weakness in his game, and my own feeling is that he won't, or not much. Same against Burnley, of all clubs.

Another career ruined in persuit of cash. If he thinks he'll be a regular starter he's deluded. A cheap addition to City's "home grown" quota is all he is.

I've always quite liked Delph - we were in for him when he was at Leeds but he went to Villa instead. I don't buy either the 'he's not good enough', or the 'rot on the bench thing'. He'll have his chance - it's up to him. It is Fernando's position he plays in ffs.

Just heard a statement from Delphi read out on Talksport - and the player has said he is staying at Villa.

He only goes if he wants to. He might be tempted if one of the other 3 of the top 4 came in with a bid, if he thought he would be guaranteed to play.
