FENERBAHCE: RVP DEAL DONE
Turkish club Fenerbahce have revealed Robin van Persie’s transfer from Manchester United is all-but complete and the Dutchman will arrive in Istanbul this weekend to finalise the move.
Club chairman Aziz Yildirim confirmed negotiations between the concerned parties had been completed late on Friday and that Van Persie was expected to arrive in Turkey by private jet on Sunday.
"We worked very hard, until midnight. We received five faxes, sent six faxes and finally it was finished," Yildirim told Turkish sports daily and Hurriyet.
"The Van Persie transfer is done and one more star has joined the Fenerbahce constellation."

Faxing is considered more "secure" than emailing that's all.

How long left on his contract? RvP would've been good as back up. LvG has told him that's all he would be getting, and I reckon he's decided "no, I want first team"
Fair play to him.

Yeah every transfer deadline day they're always mentioned when making last minute dealsTwo years ago we couldn't sign Coentrao because the fax document didn't make it in time to Madrid.

Years ago I was sitting next to a bunch of lawyers in a company canteen and they were having a boring conversation about the respective legal status of faxed, signed documents and 'email signatures'. Apparently the latter were a bit of a grey area. Maybe that's still the case, in some countries if not all, which could explain our continuing use of an otherwise obsolete technology.

VC, I get the impression some legal systems have caught up with technology and others haven't. Some companies across Europe that we do business with are happy with emailed contracts, others insist on a fax.
Anyway, good luck RVP. We may only have seen his best for a little while but he was a class act.

In my own work e-signatures are acceptable on some forms and not on other times. I don't get it.
