As i sit here, nursing my first ever football-induced hangover. I look back wondering if there has ever been a more soul-crushing day for North London football? I can't account for Spurs fans but this felt as bad, if not worse than THAT game against Newcastle.
Yesterday I was due to watch 6 hours of football with my cousins, 2 mancs and a Spurs fan. It was almost like destiny that the 2 mancs never showed up and we together had to witness a demolition of both our clubs.
I think after we both agreed as football fans, we can completely share the other persons pain (or was that the vodka talking?). After consuming copious amounts of alcohol, we agreed given the start we've both had the season starts now!
Two weeks off is enough to recover from any psychological damage felt yesterday.
My question to my fellow North Londoners is how did you cope with what went down yesterday?
The suffering of North London

This happens to Spurs from time to time. We have a bad start and sometimes we take a thrashing but we normally recover. I remember Arsenal having some less than good times but never quite like this. It was one of football's coincidences that the North London clubs were both thrashed by the Manchester clubs and a player from each side scores a hat trick etc etc etc. I wouldn't worry too much. As Ferguson said you still have the quality up front whereas we have but it's not functioning and hasn't for a while.

It is called the "north london curse".
Arsene Wenger needs to go for me. He hasn't adapted to the change of times and his stubbornness is going to cost you more than a slap-head and a turned off phone.

Well being a Spurs supporter is always like being at a theme park, there are some very exciting rides, some you absolutely hate & some you wouldn't be seen dead on!!
Its a bit like our playes really, some are the most exciting around, some we are just not really sure if they are made of the right stuff and some you just don't think should be at the Club.
What must not happen is to get a losingmentality, I saw enough quality play from both sides yesterday to know that both these scores were aberrations.
Both United & City seemed to score every chance they had............................if Crouch & Bale had converted their chances & Van Persie had scored his penalty we just might be having a different conversation!
As the great James Peter Greaves once said, "Football? It's a funny old game"
