Villa could look to sign someone like Digard to replace him

Looking likely to have lost a lot of the starting XI from the cup final. Benteke, Delph, Cleverly, given. Vlaars out of contract too isn't he? Could be a rough season again

Well, we didn't do too well in the cup final, did we, so...
Just been watching the Braga match. The team we put out in the first half was impressive. A passing game better than I've ever seen us playing, and a solid, very well organised, defence. Gil ran the midfield and the ball was being worked down the flanks. Benteke is the only player of those who have jumped ship who we'll miss. He'd have scored a hatfull. As it was we didn't score any.
Take that first half team and stick a class striker in it and we will do OK. The second half team wasn't in the same class. We need more players including that striker. But as it is I think we are going in the right direction.

I doubt anyone has a problem with Delph moving. Footballers do that all the time.
But there are right ways of doing things, and there are wrong ways of doing things.
If Delph wanted to move, he could have done so without spouting a lot of BS. That's the issue here.
It is all about money, and it doesnt matter what kind of shiite example you set.
And it isnt just football either, that is how the UK is run these days too: the people at the top dont give a rats and are treating the rest with a lot of disrespect.

Lambert says that Delph was right to move and there's nothing wrong with him changing his mind and he's a great player and deserves to play for a top team.
I supported Lambert most of the time he was here, but now I'm beginning to dislike him intensely. Think he's somewhat bitter. No reason to be, he had every opportunity here and at the end of the day he wasn't up to it.
