Unfortunately for villa however this news does NOT mean that he's hung up his boots to take up a job in the City of London as a stockbroker!
So in the latest round of hilarity at the merry-go-round of fun that is Temporary Tim and his shambles of a football club, not only are you about to lose your star striker to Liverpool but also the captain of your team Fabian 'This lady's not for turning' Delph!
You couldn't make it up,it was only Benteke's goals that kept you up last year and you've been barely staving off the big drop for years now!
Surely even the most deluded of villa fans and it would be a tough call to narrow that one down, has to realise that you are now doomed?
Don't worry though,as you know that the lads down the road at Blues will do their very level best to not win promotion next season, giving you the massive added bonus of being able to watch the West Midlands derbies again.Once the inevitable dreaded drop comes around for the tatters of a team of journeymen that will be left, when the new season kicks off over in Aston!
Every cloud lads,every cloud...
Captain Delph's a Cityboy now!

Weve had a bad week Barca and I had no doubt you would give your opinion
However the sale of Benteke and Delph if the funds are made available does give us a fresh start.
Not guaranteed but compared to Blues I would still take what we have

Only a relatively bad week, we've expected Benteke and Delph to move on for some time, it's just the way it happened which stinks.
I'm not too sorry. Delph looks good when the match is going well, but he's no game changer; Arsenal had no problem in snuffing him out. Likewise Benteke can be coped with; he doesn't move well enough to make life difficult for defenders, and in our final match Bolton kept him quiet.
We need a total revamp of the way we play, and Tim's doing it, and bringing in players to do it. If those two don't want to be part of it, so be it.
So, Barca, if you want those derbies you're going to have to do better than hoping to survive in the Championship

As much as I dislike Villa. And hope you rot with your little city neighbours. What delph has done is horrendous
Not the fact he left (who can begrudge him a move?) but how

Isn't there anything for Birmingham City fans to discuss on the Birmingham City message board?

I might as well post this here: my grandfather played for Birmingham (City) Colts during the 30s. We have kept a series of letters where they ask him about his availability to play certain games. Do you think the club has a history department that might like them?
