Ever since they became the smaller of the two clubs in Manchester in 2012, United have exhibited an inferiority complex that has been befuddling considering their history of success and lack of petrodollar funding, unlike their petro-state neighbors.
But they seem to always react to whatever City do. City win the league by spunking money on a world class strike and several average players. United do the same (Van Persie) and win the league.
City sack their manager a year after winning the league. United sack their manager a year after winning the league.
City hire a former manager of one of the Spanish Big 2. United hire a former manager of one of the Spanish Big 2.
Now City dump loads of cash for Sterling, becoming the biggest spenders so far this season. United react by putting in a ludicrous bid for Thomas Muller.
Why such a storied club would stoop to reacting to the activities of a lower club is beyond me? It is as if your younger,over-weight brother won the lottery and blew it on a large house, Rolls Royce, and Russian mail-order brides. And you react by taking out loans to prove you are still superior.
Shame they've decided to reach such a low. They should just wait until City collapse from the oil windfalls drying up, and they shrivel back to the small club they were before.

You Gooner keyboard warriors are making a shambles out of your supporters rep with this type of posting. Get real, as they say. The United squad this season will settle the doubters, see you in May, we'll be the ones proud of our season.

Arsenal and ManU have a lot in common.....neither being the biggest club in their cities.....although Arsenal haven't been for a decade.

An Arsenal 60k>United 80k. Hawkings proved this in some mathematics journal years ago.

The Emirates is an 80K stadium, unfortunately the capacity is limited to 60K by TfL and Met Police.
