Cambiasso ...

We need somebody. We were looking at one or two attacking midfielders, but one (Chery) has gone to QPR.

Seems to me Gil or Grealish is going to play as a number 10 a lot of the time. Other midfielders include Gueye, Sinclair, Bacuna, Sanchez and Westwood. You could include Gardner but I'm not sure he's made his case, and possibly Bennett if he's still around.

I think Sanchez is OK as a defensive midfielder, I think Westwood may only be good as a backup. Gil's looked very good so far in the creative role, Bacuna and Hutton seem to be combining well down the right, Sinclair is OK on the left wing. Gueye we hope can take over from Delph. It's not bad but it could be better and we need more cover anyway.

So, Cambiasso could be a very good move. Or an effective Cleverley replacement. We need a midfield which can dominate.

I agree we need more midfielders in, but Cambiasso? He can do a job for a newly promoted side but thats really it. He is now 35 years old and other than scoring a few goals for Leicester what else did he bring to the team? We have tried the over the hill players and it doesnt really work...Pires or Cole didnt/haven't really done it for us either.

Instead of just slating your opinion which I don't want to come across as doing, The question remains….we need more in midfield spots!

Carlos Gil I don’t think will be the answer and I am not sure how much we will see of him this season either. He can have his moments of magic, but to watch his overall game he is easily barged off the ball and he still hasn’t come close to mastering when to pass the ball. He lost it numerous times last night for just taking too long against a lesser team which would come back to haunt us!

I would think Leroy Fer could be a good signing, he is strong, can find a player and scored a few for QPR last season!

I've seen Gil with three players onto him and they haven't barged him off the ball. He's good, could be better, and I think he will be. If we can get the rest of the midfield working properly together, and there are signs off this, then he could be very effective.

We also need a dynamic attacking midfielder. I see Gueye taking the Delph role. But we could do with something more.

Gil will never be a player who goes in for a tackle etc but as a number 10 with a free hole he is blessed with talent. This is probably why we didn't see much of him towards the end of last season because Sherwood wanted a team that was going to fight 100 % to edge out any win. What people have to look at is getting the balance right. Under Lambert we were playing players who were all similar in positional play and therefore we struggled to create. Players like Gil, Grealish if used properly along with a settled central partnership and i think we could do ok this season. It's all about getting a prolific goalscorer now benteke has gone. Austin for me but are we likely to spend 15 million on 1 player ?? I'm not so sure ...
