Pre-season

I'm not sure if it's just my poor memory, but this seems like a realy wierd pre-season this year? We played a couple of games at the end of last season in Asia, then nothing for two months, then couple of games just before the season kicks off, one of them only a few days before.
I realise they want to maximise revenue and exposure but at the same time they seem to be going from practically nothing, straight into it.
Not to mention abandoning the usual friendly at home the week before it all kicks off.
Just a sign of things to come I guess, but will be glad when it all starts again anyway.

When Liverpool can finish above Tottenham, then you can start gobbing off, now toddle off back to your own board please.

Well done, Spurs finished ahead of Liverpool by a couple of points.

Yet still the world would rather watch Liverpool than Spurs - what does that tell you?

That the majority of the world are like the majority of Pool fans in the UK, the jumped on the Pool success bandwagon of yesteryear, and are still on it

The matches are to do with the pochs fitness techniques. Gone are the days of cross country running pre season sadly. Sharp matches high intensity. Which is why all the behind the closed doors friendlies are so close in timing. Play train play again. Properly punishing the fitness.

The games right before Man united theoretically should make us all signing all dancing come match day.

I am a massive critic of poch because what will happen is we will start a hipsters dream with a pressing technique then fade through the back end of the season because it is impossible to implement in the English game as the pace is too high.

Get used to no home games as friendlies because there will not be any for a few years obviously!

-------

that's why we need a young, hungry squad so that we can bring players in when others tire...

that's why poch was so let down last season by the attitude of the senior pros who weren't willing to train so hard, and so he couldn't rely on them... we were stuck running players like mason, bentaleb, eriksen etc into the ground

To be fair, Liverpool seem to be struggling to draw crowds. Only half-filled a 50K stadium in Thailand.

Regardless of how the media try to portray them, Liverpool are only the 4th most popular PL team globally.

United, Arsenal & Chelsea are comfortably bigger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And how about the games in Australia?
And maybe we are only the fourth most supported team world wide. But that still puts us in the top 10 in the entire world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah Liverpool are easily Top 10 in the world.

They're the 7th most popular sports team on social media, narrowly behind Bayern. All of the Top 8 are football clubs.
