well looks like Adebayor is arriving so will he be our main man up front?
Am pretty disappointed in this really.
Our signings
Micah Richards
Jose Angel Crespo
Jordan Amavi
Scott Sinclair
Jordan Ayew
Idrissa Gueye
Emmanuel Adebayor
Jordan Veretout (maybe)
Are they good enough to take us up a level away from relegation or are we in for another dogfight..
Amavi certainly is, cant see him being at Villa long before he is snapped up
Richards I hope he stays injury free
Gueye, Crespo I know very little
Adebayor well fluck knows
Ayew's record isnt that great but you never know, think Swansea got the better brother £9m cheaper
Veretout would be a great signing
How will Sherwood line up with Westwood, Gabby, Grealish, Gil all looking to be starting as well?
Villa this season?

Adeybayor

I'd be concerned tbh, relying on Ade and Ayew to get the goals is a big ask, Ade is lethal when he is bothered but all to often he cba and as you said Ayew's record is poor and it's a lot of pressure for a young player.
Richards hasn't played an awful lot and is prone to an error or two.
Mainly I'd be concerned though due to the amount of players you have brought in, it's almost doomed us at the Albion the past 2 years and a lot of them are foreign imports who can go either way very easily.
Tim is going to have to seriously earn his money.

So long as we avoid relegation and have something we can build on for next season, rather than another run of changes. Haven't the faintest idea on how we'll do. What we've seen so far shows promising signs, but we need to do better. Remember we haven't seen our first 11 yet, and I think Sherwood is primarily interested in trying out players to see how they do. Which way will he go?
Well, my guess is reputations will count for nothing. Gabby is likely to be benched, at best. N'zogbia will be gone. I think the defence is sorted:
Guzan
Hutton Richards Clark Amavi
Crespo in reserve, might get the nod over Hutton if Sherwood needs a more defensively minded set up. Midfield is more problematic. With one striker would probably go for:
Sanchez
Bacuna Gil/Grealish Gueye Westwood/Sinclair
Except not 100% Bacuna will be there. With two strikers:
Sanchez/Westwood
Gueye Gil/Grealish Sinclair
Frontline is simple:
Adebayor and/or Kozak
Saw Ayew tonight and not hugely impressed; think he'll need time to challenge for a place.

Veretout is a cracking player, easily will start ahead of Westwood if he signs, which hopefully he will. I'd like to see Sanchez play in a three-man midfield like below:
.....................Guzan.......................
Richards....Okore....Clark....Amavi
....................Sanchez....................
............Gueye......Veretout............
Sinclair.............................Grealish
........................Ade........................
I definitely think we're stronger at full back and central midfield compared to last season. Ade is capable of scoring as many as Benteke but remains a big if. If Veretout signs we need him and Gueye to settle into the EPL quite quickly, if they do I think we are potentially better than Delp/Cleverley last season. I think Sanchez will be much better this season and will be a key player if he performs how he has for the national team. On the bench we have Ayew, Gabby, Westwood, Bacuna, N'Zogbia - basically players who shouldn't be starting but could add cover and possibly contribute late on in a game. Ayew is a bit underwhelming for the price paid but could come off, a big if though.
I think if Ade and Veretout come in we still need another centre back, Richards should be right back, that's where he played when City won the league and was outstanding, he just needs to be kept fit which would seem impossible given his lack of game time in the last two/three years but Sherwood will obviously fancy his chances otherwise wouldn't have signed him. If we can get a centre back of Vlaar's level (when fit) or even better then on paper we should comfortably avoid relegation and possibly even be mid-tableish. I can't think of a top level centre back who would come to us but we could try for Jonny Evans who is probably better than anyone we've got, or someone try to pull off a coup and go for someone like Vermaelen. If not then Okore needs to step up to what he is capable of and stay injury free, as Clark is decent and those two could form an ok partnership. I'd also be tempted to go for Januzaj on loan from Man United.

Reckon Crespo's been bought as first choice back-up, so Baker may be on the way out. Still think Hutton will be RB, he's putting in very positive performances down the right even if he still makes a defensive mistake a match.
