So, Balotelli is to train with the U21's

Brenda has told Mario to stay away from the first team squad and train with the 21's.

He, Rogers, spent £16m on this player last season and hardly played the maverick. Now, all of a sudden, he's been given the embarrassment of being discarded to one side and told to come nowhere near the first team.

So, when a player decides he no longer wishes to work with this manager and this club, he'S vilified and told he's a greedy pr*ck by fans and ex players for wanting away from this club, but when in the same breath, their own manager can discard a senior player into the wilderness, one who hardly got given a chance at LFC, that's suddenly acceptable behaviour?

Can't wait for these ex dipper players and fans to come out and bemoan Brenda and the club for their actions against an LFC player they signed for £16m the season before, but only started him 10 times in the PL.

so I wanted to know why fans of 'any' club (LFC being the club in question as this player plays for them, and the other who was vilified left them) are happy to react in one way towards someone who wants to leave, yet when another player at their club can be treated in this way, when no story has ever come out to warrant him being dumped in such a manner, can they justify a reaction that Sterling got?

------------------

Because they wanted one of those players to stay and want the other of those players to leave.

The answer to your question is just so obvious. All fans are like this. I said as much in my very first reply to you.

Now I agree with you - there is no loyalty in football - with the exception of the fans of course.

Read through any comment made at this time of year (pre-season). You'll come across many comments referfing to players as "deadwood". You'll also come across many comments slating a player (who the fans want to keep at their club) because he wants to leave, or indeed has left their club.

My only disagreement really has been you choosing to single Liverpool fans out for this, when it's something that fans of all clubs are guilty of. In response to that, you're saying that it's not "solely any angst towards LFC fans". So if that's the case then there's no need to single them out is there?

You could have made a generic thread about this hypocritical nature of football fans, using many examples spread across many clubs, and people would have no doubt agreed with you. If that's your actual point, I agree with you. But you have made this specifically about Liverpool fans. And you have commented quite a lot about Liverpool fans during your short time on this site. So I would suggest that you are lying - you ARE using the Balotelli situation (and in turn the Sterling situation) in order to have a dig specifically about Liverpool fans. You do come across as someone who has a hang up about them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I simply used Balotelli as a talking point. OK, for my 'short time' I've been on here, I may come across as anti-LFC. And I am, at this moment in time. I'm not lying, I'm simply using them as an example because of what has happened within the past few months.

Am I being told off now by a fellow blue?

Maybe if I read many anti-Delph posts by Villa fans on the City board, I may have selected them to use as an example, but the simple fact is I can't, as I haven't.

Not sure what else I'm supposed to say to your reply.

Sorry for being on here for a short period of time?

Sorry for daring to use LFC as an example?

Sorry for posting something that you disagree with?

I'm really not sure. You read into it what you want. As I said, I used them as an example to highlight how fans can be hypocritical. You chose to assume it was a sole dig a LFC fans, which you're entitled to do. I've no problem with that.

However, name me 2 players from another PL team whereby one has left and been vilified and another star signing from the season before, has been isolated to train with their U21's, and I'll happily delete my thread altogether, to show you I was clearly being biased and against Liverpool fans.

Quite happy to do that Ripley's if it makes you happy and avoids any LFC fans being upset on a Man City board?

Just post who these 2 players are this season and I'll delete away.

"told off"????

How old are you? I'm having a discussion with you where I disagree with what you've written and stating why I disagree.

Why are you apologising for being here for a short length of time? I'm not criticising you for that.

Why are you apologising for "daring" to post something that I disagree with? Me disagreeing with your post doesn't mean that you should be sorry for writing your post.

I'm simply disagreeing with you. You are coming out with so many cliches that suggest that you don't expect anyone to disagree with you.

And what does it matter whether I'm a fellow blue or not?

"You chose to assume it was a sole dig a LFC fans"

No, my point is simply that there's no need to have a dig at a specific set of fans in order to make the point that you are seemingly intent on making.

This isn't about me caring whether Liverpool fans are upset or not. This is about me disagreeing with you for singling any fans (in this instance Liverpool fans) for something that fans of all clubs (including City) are guilty of doing.

Your last couple of paragraphs just show how much you have completely missed the point of my replies to you.

And you mine.

Clearly.

How have I missed your point, when you've spent the half-a-dozen posts responding to the points I've been making, and apologising in the process?

I say you have a hang up about Liverpool fans - you respond by saying that you do. I say that all fans can be accused of hypocrisy - you state the very same thing in response. I say there is no need for you to single out Liverpool fans in regards to your post - you reply by saying that it's not only about Liverpool fans.

And now you respond by saying I've missed your point!!! Yet the truth is that you're actually agreeing with me all along and you don't even realise it.

You don't even acknowledge the point I made about agreeing with you in regards to the hypocritical nature of football fans.

So tell me, what, exactly, is it that I have missed about the point you are trying to make?

My apologies for a start!

They were hypothetical, asking me what else you want me to do - i.e. the ? at the end.

I'm not apologising to you or anyone else on here. Get over yourself. Sounds like you are determined, one way or the other, to get YOUR point across on my thread.

As someone posted the other day:

"If the milk turns out to be sour, I ain't the kind of pusssy to drink it."

I'm not going to agree with you to inflate your ego.

I've already said on numerous occasions, I'm happy to accept your opinion, whether I agree or not. I'm not going to just roll over and accept what you say.

Not really sure what else you want me to say or why you keep replying, trying to get some point across. I get what you are saying, I got it earlier, I just don't agree with it.

You know what? I did miss that!!! My bad!

I don't expect you to accept my opinion. This is the internet! That rarely ever happens. We're not here to accept the opinion of others, we're here to express our own opinion. That's basically it.

For the record, I keep replying because I'm enjoying the discussion and reading your replies. You've been respectful in your replies and I appreciate that - it's not often that happens, and you're a good guy for not reducing this to a slanging match.

In short, I keep replying because you come across as someone who is able to fight his corner without feeling the need to get offensive. Exactly the kind of person I enjoy engaging with on this site

Then that's fair enough - game on Ripley's.

I'm not here to wum or create a thread about slagging other fans off, not my style and couldn't really be ars£d to be fair. I state my point as honestly as I can and I would never expect all to agree or disagree.

I already said I respect your opinion. However, if you wish to continue, then feel free my new 'friend'.
