Improved.

Have United improved or not?

Keeper - still DDG and no point in going into that until it's confirmed he's gone.

Same.

Defence - Darmian in. Definitely an improvement on Valencia. Centre backs are the same. Shaw has had a summer free to train and has looked very sharp in preseason.

Improved.

Midfield - Added Schneiderlen and Schweinsteiger. Need I say more?

Massive improvement.

Attack. Lost Falcao (good, he was terrible), RVP (clearly declining and not mobile enough for LVGs system) and di Maria ( fantastic player but during his time at United he was out shone by Ashley Young).

They haven't improved but I was happy to see Falcao and RVP leave for the long term benefit of the team. Disappointed with Angel but he was terrible the majority of last season.

But don't forget, we will be able to now play Rooney up front. And he is in the top three strikers in the Premiership.

Our most important player, Hafi.

We have improved massively defensively:-

1) All our defenders are fit. That's unbelievable in itself.
2) New RB
3) A fit LB as well as cover from Blind who won't be needed as much in midfield.
4) Quality, energy and experience in CM that was arguably our biggest problem area last season.

Our attack is weaker this season but not by as much as some might think.

1) ADM, RVP, Falcao gone. They may have had disappointing seasons but the squad is much weaker without them - especially since all would almost certainly have played better this season imo.
2) However, LVG knows the players better and they, in turn, know each other and LVG's 'philosophy' better.
3) Thus, the team should not be so disjointed this season and we should create more chances as a result.

Still, there is a lot of pressure on Memphis this season which is not ideal considering his age and time needed to settle etc. Pedro would be handy...

Considering this time last year we hadn't signed anyone yet, I think we are in much better shape going into this season, all things considered.

Very mature Patriarch. Tell me again how DDG is still a part of our squad and we are equally as strong in goals. And up front we have Chicha as second choice striker. He was deemed surplus to requirements a year ago. Things look fantastic in that department too

Chicha is an improvement on Falcao.

As mature as you reading the first sentence? Stick it up your balls mate.

DDG is still a part of the squad. (That was easy)

And who says Hernandez is second choice? Furthermore I conceeded that theattack was weaker than last season. With Rooney concentrating on being solely up top I have strong hopes that United won't be as weak as some fans may fear.

Fair point.

DDG isn't still part of the squad. The squad has been selected and he isn't in it. Therefore he is not part of the squad. He's no use to us in excile so go tug yourself off

Aren't you both (Merry and Patriarch) in Norn Iron?

Show some brotherly love! It isn't the 70's anymore.

TBH I think there is a huge improvement in our attack...

For starters we have a season of Rooney up front...

Which is massively better than half a season of RVP and Falcao upfront and half a season of Rooney up front.

Hernandez might not be any better than the RVP of last season but I wouldn't say he is any worse either. Hernandez is much better than Falcao though.

As long as we keep DDG we have improved quite a bit IMO. The only real loss so far has been ADM but according to half our fanbase he was the worlds worst ever player so thats an improvement in some peoples eyes.
