So with Rondon all but signed we now have the strongest set of strikers outside the top 4 and Liverpool. I never thought I'd ever be able to say that about my team.
Now with the strikers and cb's sorted (Lescott has signed a new deal) can we please have a box to box cm, a star winger and a full back please Mr Peace and Mr Pulis?
Foster, Myhill and Rose
Dawson, Gamboa, Lescott, McAuley, Chester, Olsson, Pocognoli
Brunt and Mclean (both lb's and lm)
Sess, Mozza, Yacob, Fletcher, Gardner, Gnabry, Mcmannam
Berahino, Rondon, Ideye, Lambert and Anichebe
Not a bad squad
Our strikeforce

Is our strike force really that good?
Fine, Berahino's a class act IF HE STAYS!
Ideye and Anichebe have been massive flops.
Lambert is old and slow and there's strikers in the Championship i'd rather have than him.
As Rondon, i'm very worried that we're paying over the odds. Granted he's averaged a goal every 2 games over the last 12 months or so but he's been playing for the best team in the Russian league. With us he'll be playing for a bottom half side in the best league in the world. For me he's unproven and a massive gamble at £15 million.
I'm certainly not getting carried away!

You do realise he almost scored 1 in 2 in la liga?
And you do realise Lambert scored 28goals in 2 seasons at an 'average' premier league team?
How many strikers like that could we attract let alone for less than £3m?

I am the same man who supports Vic, he is a talented player, just ravaged by injuries and alot of his problems are mental, similar to Hargreaves.
As for Lambert cox, he may be old and slow but his game has never been about pace, he's a target man with an eye for goal, a set piece specialist and good link up play.
Ideye hasn't flopped either, when he got a run of games under Pulis and confidence he was a massive threat and got a good number of goals, he could still come good.

Anichebe is his own worst enemy. Way to inconsistent and seemingly comes across as not bothered half the time

In his last season at Malaga he scored 11 goals in 40 games!

What's your idea of a flop exactly? Mine is only scoring 4 league goals in an entire campaign when you're supposed to be a £10 million out-and-out goalscorer!

25 goals in 67 games
Either way, cheer up fella

Ideye didn't cost £10mill

As JH said he didn't cost £10 million, the actual fee paid to £4 million with the rest in add ons so yes for a first season in England, half of it on his own because his family couldn't come and with no pre season a return of 7 goals is actually decent.
