these are prem games.
That's pretty worrying. In all 4 games we have hardly looked like scoring.
i honestly think a lot of it is linked with Wenger obsession with a midfielder out wide.
I was really hoping he would have ditched the idea last season but I think it will be in full effect this season.
If it's not cazorla, it will be Ramsey or Wilshere out wide which just suffocates our attacking game because on the other side you will have Sanchez who will just continue to cut in.
I really want to see Walcott and Giroud start together. Is Walcott no longer a wide player?
All his goals and assists come from out there. We are really missing a trick by not playing him as Giroud also benefits from him playing.
If we have any ambitions of challenging than we need to find a way of breaking teams down at home once again. With wengers selections, teams are starting to figure us out at home.
Ps: The game had a simillar feel to Monaco game where we got outmuscled once again
4 of the last 5 games at Emirates = 0 goals

It's become an ego thing now for Wenger with Ozil. Any other player would have been dropped a long time ago.
His recent improvements have been so exaggerated, you would have thought we had messi playing for us.
He is a passenger in 70% of the games.
Can't we just have two direct wide players like Sanchez or Ox/Walcott rather than planting a Ramsey or cazorla there

With how average Giroud is, and how inconsistent Theo is, part of me wants to try Ox as a false 9 until Welbeck returns.
Coquelin - Ramsey
Walcott - Cazorla - Alexis
Oxlade-C
You don't know if something works until you've tried it, and our other striking options aren't world beaters.

Giroud and Walcott up front can work.
But I do think Wenger love for Giroud is lessening so won't be surprised if a new striker came in

are you proposing we go to a 4-4-2?

No just play Walcott out wide

Instead of Oxo? I think all this is skating around the problem. What would be the difference? Sure Theo is more clinical and creative than Oxo, but Oxo didn't have many chances so not sure Theo could have done anymore from wide than Oxo did today. The problem lies elsewhere.
Against Chelsea all our players were trying to use Theo as a target man. He isn't. They should have been playing balls into space but were instead playing to feet. Someone as small as Theo will always get out muscled. Now Wenger assumed, that West Ham would sit deep and take away space for Theo to run into. Wrongly. And even so Wenger overestimates Giroud ability to hold up play. We did not have greater possession than West Ham until they went 2-0 ahead and let us have the ball.
So the problem is the striker position. We need a Benzema or striker who can use his movement and power better than a statuesque Giroud. And then use Theo and Alexis as the wide men to better use space he will create from his movement.

When he is so statuesque like you said why was he playing as a left winger today? Thought he didnt move?

Haha! What's your problem with Ozil? It's ok not being completely satisfied, but you seem to have a go at him at every possible opportunity. I saw your post earlier regarding playing better football without him despite the fact that we were fairly awful throughout last season, with or without him.
If anyone should be dropped in games like today, it's Coquelin who simply can't play football. Cazorla needs to play deep as neither Ramsey or Coquelin can build the play.

He's a clown scapegoats Ozil at every turn. I dont understand how this idiot can suck off a poor mans Ozil in David Silva yet slate Ozil. You couldnt make it up. We need an elite passing DM or bring back Arteta into the side. Coquelin and Cazorla need to be binned
