End of the day, it was a definite red and a penalty. All the excuses that a few (and it is only a few) fans make does nothing to change the truth. It was a brave call to make by the ref and he should be given credit where it's due.

If Courtios does receive any bans this season, Chelsea are in a great position to appeal every time regardless. They might get lucky and have their number 1 back, but also if they don't it gives Begovic game time, who is a very very good back up.

As expected, the card was upheld.
