Pochettino System

We have had time now I think to get a hang on the system that Mo Po is trying to create, firstly to me it appears to be a very high risk system, as a large percentage of goals we concede are because of misplaced passes when playing the ball out from the back, now we are lead to believe that this is because he doesn't have the players on board in these prime positions that he wants, my question is what happens to the system if he doesn't get who he want in this window, is it time to change the system and then again is he capable of changing his system to suit the players available.
I'm from a generation were you played the best footballers available and worked a system around them.
or after this transfer window are there still going to be people who say we need to give him more time,
would he be given as much time as Lamela who according to some on here still needs time (its not time he needs, moving on he needs)

I take it you are firmly in the camp of don't give managers time?

He seems a bit of an idealogue....very little flexibility when it comes to the team, and if a vital cog is missing no thought is given to the knock-on effects.

He has players he wants I have no doubt - the signings made so far scream Poch, as do the likely targets.

I expect to see a much more coherent team this season, he really has no excuse in that front. Easily top 6 in terms of squad and stability - that is our bare minimum -and I suppose the plan is to crack on properly the season after once the young squad is firmly established

Ideally you'd buy players who'd specifically fit your system, or can at least adapt to it. Nothing groundbreaking in that statement (yet it seemed to escape AVB and Baldini).

If you can't do that for whatever reason, you adapt the system to suit the players. It doesn't necessarily mean a manager/coach has to tear up their entire beliefs, but they tailor it slightly to suit what you've got.

Should've kept Redknapp. Oh well, around the vicious circle we go yet again…
