Peterborough V Colchester

The Posh host Colchester for their first home game of the season.

This is a game we ought to win, particularly after Tuesday night's nerve-settling-confidence-building win.

Great to see Maddison score his first, assisted by the excellent young Harry Anderson - a star in the making. We need now for Gormley to score his first goal, which may lead to floodgates opening.

We tend to beat Colchester.

3-0?

A beatable Charlton at home in the next round of the League Cup, followed by one of the big boys at home in the third round?

I expect you to beat Colchester comfortably.

3-1

Good luck away against Bury, Don. A bit of a toughie that one - 0-0 or 1-1.

Time to get the season started, think we will creep past Burton 3-1 scoring a couple of late goals. Transfer activity expected next week with Michael Smith. John O'Sullivan and Andy Yiadom expected to sign. And Everton at home around the corner.
Good luck everyone today.

Greetings Snapski from a sunny Woking (missing today's game, as at friends, but looking forward to our home game against Sheffield Utd on Tuesday night).

Your League Cup tie against Everton will be a cracker, especially for Holgate. Burton are the promoted team I most fear, with the fearless Hasselbaink in charge. However, you are at home which will help. As intriguing a game, I would say, as the Everton one.

Enjoy your season.

UTP, though!

2-1 - that'll do nicely, especially as both goals were scored by Maddison who appears to be recovering the outstanding form he started with last season. Long may that continue.

Relieved, very relieved. Trust me, Burton are a very decent side, and in no way deserved to lose today.

We play them shortly away from home, Snapski, so will treat them with care. We always used to lose to them when Fergie was in charge of us and Cloughie was in charge of them.

A good result for you Thorney, Maddison looked sharp. We were dead and buried at Bury, appalling in the first half. I still can't believe we got a point.

Snapski, good result for you too, Burton won't lose many games this season. Looks like you'll be getting Michael Smith soon which will leave us without any strikers given our injury crisis. I rate Smith, he's a good target man and his strike rate is good. We're crazy selling him.
