It is clear that we need at least one new striker and one midfielder, but we have added new players to the squad this season and we have got rid of most of the deadwood, but yet we still show no signs of improvement.
Ironically goal scoring has not been a major problem so far, with three goals scored in the last two games, it's just that we cannot seem to defend.
The goal conceded against Leicester was so poor it's untrue. The team was so slow to get back into position prior to the restart and then we made Mahrez look like Messi.
Some may say it's early days, but then when European foootball kicks in, the same people will then blame the Europa league commitments.
I think questions need to be asked of the manager.
As I said in an article last week, I'm still backing Poch.....but only just.
Why Are We Not Improving as a Team?

Best answer I can give in this would be down to the system he plays the players won't buy into it.

the main reason is that its essentially a group of talented kids, with no leadership on the pitch.
lloris is skipper but in goal.
verts is the senior outfield man and he seems to be a wimp.
Toby A I think has leadership in him, but hes new at the club.
without some much needed direction and steel, then this lot wont achieve their potential.

And Lamela has somehow got worse over the summer.
--------
hes got to go. we should be actively looking to sell him. hes nothing but a liability.

It is the system and the failure to address consistent issues within the side.....
For example where is our plan b? 4-2-3-1 bielsa style. No change of the slow plodding tactics or formation. We could we 1-0 up or 5-0 down it does not matter system sticks always.
For example how many goals do we concede that are due to us not being focused? (Newcastle, Leicester) that should never happen in a premier league side.
If a player does well why is he not given a chance? Kane had to wait until November last year due to pochs stubbornness.
Why do players not do well and get given more opportunities? Lamela or verts on a regular basis.
We do need a few players but we can perform much better. A change would reinvigorate us.
Marseille lost bielsa (pochs mentor and a carbon copy of us) they looked awful. Michel comes in works with the players for 4 days and they won 6-0 yesterday playing some great stuff. Exact same side put out.
I never agree to sack the manager blah blah blah but in this case there is no point given poch time. There is no historical proof he improves his sides.

Poch does seem to fall back on the reasoning 'They trained well this week'. All well and good if he picks 11 that trained well then actually play well, but the game isn't that straight forward is it. I'm also slightly at a loss why it is taking so long for the team to play as 'Poch wants' - it isn't rocket science is it?
The clock is ticking...

Go back to when Levy did that Facebook Q and A with Poch. He said then that most of the business will be done in the final two weeks of the window. Although he was probably lying and really meant the final final 2 hours lol

I don't think it matters who we bring in, short of signing Messi and the like. The team clearly don't understand the system or don't want to play it. Personally I hate it cos it produces really boring football. As stated above, never any real moves during games to change the system or change tactics. Just keep plugging away hoping for something to happen...
