Agree with Mudd here. He is better than Giroud no doubt, but his numbers suggest hes not head and shoulders above Giroud. Last 3 seasons in the league; Benezema - 11,17,15. Giroud - 11, 16, 14 and with similar apps record.

It has little, or nothing, to do with their relative merits/demerits as players, but still has a lot to do with things such as the way they have experienced the game vis-a-vis coaching difference , the differing structures of league football in different parts of the world, United's club 'culture' (in shorthand terms) etc.
