Sympathy for Worthing Utd

...and all those killed or affected by the Shoreham Airshow crash.

Perhaps it's a recent family bereavement, perhaps the fact it happened close to where I live, perhaps that I cycle through that exact spot regularly and two cyclists were among those killed, but the horror of what happened has really affected me.

Heaven only knows what the families of those people must be going through. The fireball was so intense that police still can't be sure how many victims there were, or in some cases who they were.

Two of the people named were footballers at Worthing Utd, a small club buried in the 9th tier of the football pyramid, a family of a different sort. Their goalkeeper and a midfielder.

Everyone involved with that club must be reeling right now and it got me wondering how we'd all react if that had been, say, Kasper and Drinky?

Well said Vulpes. Know the club and area well as in south east.

My best mates cousin was one of the victims - Matt Jones. Just unbelievable really. Family devastated as I'm sure all involved are. Really sad, nice post though Vulpes

Just been down to Shoreham Airport for the first time since the crash. One of my regular cycle routes goes across the old wooden toll bridge – I walked, it didn't feel right to ride – where all the tributes are placed.
Found it all rather upsetting.
