Getting away from the CL for a bit, let's talk about a competition that our teams actually have a chance of winning - the League Cup!
A few shocks last night, and a few near things for the top flight teams. The results in full:
Dunfermline 3 - 1 Dundee FT
East Fife 1 - 3 Motherwell FT
Forfar 1 - 2 Hearts FT
Kilmarnock 4 - 1 Berwick FT
Partick Thistle 0 - 1 Falkirk FT
Queen of Sth 0 - 1 Morton FT
Raith Rovers 2 - 1 Hamilton FT
Ross County 2 - 0 Ayr FT
St Mirren 2 - 3 Livingston FT
Obviously the Dundee result jumps out. Losing to League One Pars is a poor, poor result, especially given Hartley has been talking about winning a cup this year. Dunfermline have been in fine form though so far this season and it just shows how confidence can take you further than expected - Gers to note.
Motherwell and Hearts both needed extra time but Partick Thistle were knocked out by Falkirk, which perhaps isn't a huge surprise but the Jags still had home advantage. Raith Rovers used their home advantage to knock out Hamilton - I've been saying I expect Raith to have a good season this year, Ray McKinnon is a good manager and he's assembling a decent team.
An interesting set of results none the less and it's opened up for the big teams to enter in the next round.

Interesting that Airdrie United were allowed to change their name & crest to that of a previous defunct club. It turns out the rules changed some time in 2012 to allow a new club to take the name & crest of a old defunct club.
Now I wonder why the rules were changed then?

When is the draw? Is it today? Not many teams I fancy our chances against TBH.
