It was a fine August Sunday afternoon that marked Martin O'Neill's first Old Firm derby.
I was pretty apprehensive going into it. We had had a decent start to the season but were now coming up against the current champions and a team that had comprehensively beaten us 4-0 in the previous meeting.
What happened next I could scarcely believe; 3-0 up after 15 minutes, Bobby Petta handing Ricksen his dinner time and time again, not being bullied off the ball, a comfortable half time lead, one of the best Old firm goals ever (from a Celtic perspective), and in the end a 6-2 mauling.
Looking back the thing that surprises me the most now is that only two of our players were making their Old Firm debut, Sutton and Valgaeren.
You would have thought the entire team had been changed such was the difference between that performance and the previous 4-0 defeat (admittedly Henrik was still out injured for the defeat).
However it showed the positive effect that O'Neill had on our players in a short period of time.
So to celebrate the 15th anniversary of that fine August afternoon here is that goal for all fans from either side to enjoy once again

Ah saw a croft for sale on Skye in the paper on the Saturday and arranged tae view it on the Sunday. Drove up and back down on the Sunday and got hame at 01.00 having managed to avoid the score. Wife and kids went to bed while ah watched through ma fingers ! Despite the time of night ah roared as each goal went in - by the time the third one went in the wife and kids just sat with me - saved them gettin woken uop every 15 minutes !

Interesting Foddy.
I've a few lump sums coming my way next couple of years.
I'm too old to work a croft.
Was looking for a remote cottage needing work.
Can do tolerable plaster, brick, roof, window stuff myself.
Wouldn't touch lecky or gas.
Looking at Inner Hebrides just now.
Some good bargains.
Do you still have to undertake to work the croft before you can buy?
