It was worrying that we were still waiting for a win, but it did feel like it was coming. Still unbeaten in the league, and after 5 games, we'd all have taken a spot in the top 10.
We've had a much better start to the season than last year, looking like a settled team, difficult to beat. Bamba has been a revelation at the heart of a strong defence, both fullbacks have been class as well.
But we do look lacking in the final third at times, lacking creativity and pace to unlock the door in a tight game.
How high can we finish? Is top 6 a realistic expectation with the team that we have?
How high can we finish this season?

Top 10, we still don't hurt teams enough, we are more solid and hard to beat, no longer an embarrassment.

Didn't we just the team you've been jizzing over all summer?
You're losing more & more credibility mate.

Some of our play first half was excellent. The movement off the ball was something we've been missing.
However when they came at us after the break it was worrying how upping the tempo unsettled us and their goal was inevitable.
We road our luck second half but hung in, re-grouped and got the deserved winner.
Some German engineering in there me thinks.
How high? Keep this lot together and fit then top 6. Get some decent back up - top two.
Well done MrC for getting Rosler and staying behind the scenes.

After yesterday we should, as a club, be looking at the top spot..!!
Won't be easy but we are unbeaten and scoring goals

Trying to answer OP, it's hard to say at this stage of season. Teams perform better / worse as season unfolds, and it's hard to know how good the opposition have been too,
On that last point, none of the 5 teams played are currently in the top 8, with an average league position of 15th. That suggests we have not yet been tested as much as we will be.
Be interesting to see how we do v Ipswich in mid September
On the plus side, no one has beaten us in normal time, defence looks better, some signs we can play ok
Or, to put it another way, 'I dunno yet'

Ridiculous to speculate 5 games in, teams can lose their first 5 and finish top 10, others can win the first 5 and finish bottom 6.

Bookies still rate us as mid table finish. Around an evens bet for top half. They rate us around 3-1 for top six. It would be great to see us evens for top six instead. Lets keep up the improvement for the next 5 games and we could get to evens.
Still too early though for any real idea until we play more top teams.

We still need the wings sorting and as said for some time, some leadership to help the youngsters out!..
Top half with this squad as it is, but if one or two come in?.....who knows, but before judging now we should wait until January to see if this team are good enough and hopefully bring some proven player's in and not do a Bates and shoot the midfield,(or any other part of the team!)up!.
