Really shocked to read this interview with Jim Sinclair, where he says it was not his job as head of youth development to say to Rangers managers that he thought a particular player from the youth squad was better than a so called senior player.
Now maybe I'm wrong, but surely if your the guy developing these younger players then that is exactly your job, to make the 1st team manager aware of the talent that you have coming through, He even had the cheek to say that maybe he should have developed more of a working relationship with McCoist where he could approach him and say those things.
Quite frankly this has now shown exactly why we struggled so much at times in the past to see the talent from the youth team especially under McCoist, If the guy overseeing the kids would not even fight their corner.

I see your point and youre maybe right but McDowelly and Durranty should have been looking at the youth players for mccoist, you would have thought that was part of their job.

Oh dont get me wrong I blame the first team coaches as well, but you would expect the head of Youth Development to be kicking the managers door down when it was blatantly obvious there were better players in the youth team than those that were struggling week in and week out.

You would have thought so, but not knowing the behind-the-scenes atmosphere maybe he felt safer keeping stumph than risking his job by touting his prospects to a manager that already had his favourites. That the comments he's making now reflect a more positive change in mindset at Murray park and he feels more comfortable making them.
