I don't believe Benzema was ever on the radar, the reason being his stats are virtually identical to those of Giroud. (Ref Arseblog). Benzema is simply not that good. As for Cavani at the rumoured price off £44 million, at his age of almost 29 he would have no resale value. For that reason he would seem an unlikely purchase, unless the price was reduced to say £10 million. We have plenty of goalscoring options (albeit currently misfiring) and a far more urgent purchase would be a back up to Coquelin.

if Benzema starts for madrid he is good enough to start for us.
Our striking options are abysmal.

Their goal stats may be similar but Benzema has so much more to him than Giroud ever will

Madrid are not going doing to sell there one and only striker.
Cavani at 29 gives no value for money especially as his price will be 45Mil Plus.
Lukaku wouldn't be the worst signing we could make but Everton wouldn't sell on the cheap.

Yeah...he might not be the greatest technically, but I wouldn't mind Lukaku either at the moment

Despite the fact we have the third best striker in the league in Giroud. The point people make with Benzema is they stupidly believe he does more even though he scores as much as Giroud
You can't fault Girouds goal scoring record. It is a record of a world class striker. Which is why the pro benzema or pro new striker brigade can't use that as a fault
