Ok, so after just a few games we've got some fans hitting the panic button.
Why?
I quite like the direction Dougie is taking, the guy has no cash and instead of loaning has beens or players that could do a job for a year he is blooding in youth!
Now with no money to spend it is a great time to consolidate, balance the books and bring on some of the young guns.
Where has the expectation of us being front runners this season come from?
Where has calling our performance against Cardiff "shat" come from.
For once we're doing things the right way, slowly. We just need patience and to give the manager time.
On a separate note, Tyler looked really menacing on the right, taking players on and cutting in to cross. When / if Antonio goes and we get a stronger front man I think Tyler would slot in well on that right side.
For once can we give a manager some time, especially seeing as he is trying to do the best for our club.

I agree with your comment about setting the team up to attack more rev.
The problem with that is our lack of attacking options.
Also I agree we still have a great squad, however a few of our more influential players are injured.
I just think blaming the manager is the easy option.
Putting the tactics to one side as apart from football manager I'm not an expert, he is doing the right thing to move our club forward.
The guy needs to be given credit for that, if we can come out of this season mid table, out of the embargo and a couple of youth players becoming first team regulars I would see that as a success!
You never know, mid table come jan and a few star players back in we could do even better.

If we had one point and a terrible goal difference I could understand folk panicking, we haven't.
We haven't [yet] lost any players that we want to keep.
The Manager and Chairman would seem to get on, by Dougies demeanour after the game.
We have brought in a couple of foreign players obviously lacking match fitness and sharpness.
Cardiff exposed the lack of pace of our central defenders and the sharpness of our hereto overlooked goalie. Any team managed astutely needs to play to it's strength's; we have a light weight attack due to injury and a ponderous defence due to circumstance. We need a strong midfield to cover our defensive frailties out of possession and get up and support our attack when on the ball.
We are not the only team to play one up top, Tyler isn't the best choice there, but the manager doesn't have a lot of options. MA isn't a Centre Forward with out a better first touch on the ball. He is good at this level while he applies himself and scores goals, not sure he would be successful at the next level though.
MM is playing in front of central defence trying to cover for their mistakes, he can play DCM and has stated that, plus had a good couple of games at lfb.
This season revolves around a strong midfield lets hope that Vaughans resurgence of form continues. He won the ball and played some good forward passes from the ten minutes that I've seen on player.

When Dougie has had the option to, he has played Lansbury and Vaughan as the two CMs. Only when they've been injured has he had to play MM there. Amd that is only because Tesche is injured and Osborn coming back from fitness.
Same with the one up front. Walker is our ONLY fit striker so we literally have no choice. Dex is frail and out of form so what else can Dougie do?
The Bolton fans told us he would never consider youth players but he has been very brave in bringing some of them in. He probably could hace signed Maynard or Paul Taylor but he's stuck with Walker - a player who isn't quite up to it yet but is being given a chance.
We don't have one of the best squads in this league. Up front we are probably one of the weakest in the league. If Britt was fit then it's different but currently Dex and Walker are no better than what Rotherham have.
We have some good midfielders but our best two players are long term sicknotes so cannot be counted. Antonio is the only player who would get into most sides in the league. Vaughan is coming back to form and can be quality but he needs more games. We are weak at fullback and very inconsistent at CB where Hobbs is our best but also most injury prone. GK is average. We lack pace all over the team.
We are a mid table side and that is reflective of the squad, the manager and the finances. We had better get used to it because nothing will change in near future unless we unearth some gems in the youth team.

MM is there because of injuries.
I'm sure if fully fit the midfield would be Lansbury, Elicibo, Vaughan, Benny, Ward, MA.
There would be no place for MM who would be moved back to partner Mills.
DF is doing a good job.

We have inconsistent players, not good ones
Good players are far more reliable than our current crop. Can anyone honestly predict when Lansbury will have a good game?
This is not Freedmans fault it's a problem he has inherited. Whoever is in charge will be impacted by the extreme drag forces created by previous regime's
I do not know who specifically is to blame, but we are in a proper mess. The silver lining is the youth players getting a game and the hope this can lead to a more positive future.

I could see why DF picked Vaughan and MM in midfield as he was hoping they would cover up the lack of pace of Hobbs and Mills. He may have also anticipated Cardiff being a bit direct up to K Jones but they actually won the midfield as a result and had control for the first hour of the match.

Osborn is a must pick if DF wants to play more offensively. Has double the energy of any of the other midfielders, bar an interested Antonio.
What is up with Paterson? With Antonio looking like he is going then there is a big opportunity for him. Ol Burke appears to be ahead of him in the pecking order though.
