Busy Day

Will it be a busy day tomorrow for us? It needs to be if Martinez is true to his word and brings in three players he was looking for.

A centre back - What's going on with the Argentine lad? Still could do with experienced Premier league defender for back up possibly a loan deal!

Number Ten - Yarmolenko isn't going to happen. We need a play maker.

Striker - not sure that Rodrigez is the immediate answer.

I have a feeling we'll end up getting Lennon, who doesn't play in any of those positions and be told we tried hard to get other players, usual rubbish.

So is Howard & stones & baines & Coleman & pienar & Miralles. Imagine they will be gone soon, using the logic that players will leave if the manager does
On a serious note each team he has plated for in the PL has been relagated

Am I missing something? Did we have a really good season last year? Did we only need minor adjustments to kick on again this year? We must be absolutely stacked with numbers at CB.
Why does this keep happening? What happened to us apparently having identified our targets and wanting to get our business done early? That's what we were told earlier in the summer.
Are Deulofeu and Cleverly the blockbuster moves we're getting?
I look forward to the Wednesday morning tales of the deals that were so close but just didn't get over the line, it's an Everton tradition isn't it?!

Unsurprising response Arouna, so you don't think this lack of activity is an issue? We've two cb's at present, our back up at that position currently is Tyias Browning, so forgive me if I worry a bit. If Lukaku goes lame then our back up is your namesake, Kone. Even given that he's had a couple of decent showings so far this season his performances leave a huge amount to be desired and he is somewhat of a drop off after Lukaku. Ditto Naismith, and I really like him, but when I see Rom is being replaced by him my heart sinks because he can't play as a sole striker and that is without fail the only formation we play recently. You can't deny we need more there surely?
And so far our big outlay this summer is Deulofeu and Martinez obviously doesn't fully trust or fancy him as he only gets 5 minutes as a sub even when we're screaming out for goals....
We need numbers, our cupboard is bare in so many places, but regardless now any activity tomorrow is going to reek of desperation given the chat earlier this year of considered targets and getting our players early. The club will need to pull some pretty amazing rabbits out of hats tomorrow in order to make right yet another poor window.

Deulofeu is coming back from injury Martinez said before the game against burnley that he can't play a full game yet

In regards to Naismith he was a bug reason why we secured a point on Saturday, he was able to hold the ball abd draw could to help relieve the pressure also he tracks back better than geri. Correct sub imo

A big reason why many (not just ours) transfers happen late is due to when the TV money is paid in.
With the signing of Mori £6m deulofeu £4m and Cleverley free we've done some good buisness for very little imo. Lennon plus another and I'd be happy.

The squad won't be massively different from last year but the fixture list will be. We now have a full week to prepare for each game, that makes a HUGE difference.
I'm not worried at all for the next 9 months or so COYB
