In recent years Leeds have teased us with tales of a link up with Argentinian club San Lorenzo and stories of Brazilians on trial etc, none of which ever came to fruition.
In January, Bates made the following comments in the QPR programme notes:
On the playing side he says: "We have reorganised our Academy and scouting philosophies and we are beginning to cast our net far and wide to strengthen our squad. Becchio's an Argentine, Somma and Grella came from the States, and farther down the chain we have youths from Switzerland and Italy. Farther south, we have agreed a potential link with a leading soccer Academy in southern Italy and we now have contacts in Eastern Europe, from Romania to the Balkans."
Does anyone know who these players from Switzerland and Italy were/are?
We did sign Monty Gimpel from a German team, maybe Geography isn't Bates' strong point.
Could someone shed any light on how beneficial these ties in Eastern Europe have been because maybe I've missed it, but I don't recall any inbound or outbound transfers since January from Eastern Europe.
Maybe he was talking about contractors for the East Stand work, I don't know.
I look forward to one day hearing news from ER that I can believe and has some tangible people/clubs mentioned and that actually benefits the football team.

Not going to risk it, I aint retyping a point that you deleted as I believe you only did it because you had no response to the points it made.

I think its probably best if I avoid debating with you att all from this point on, as I cant trust you not to delete comments in the future.

hero, have you heard anything about these Swiss and Itlaina players that Bates says we have, or know anything about these Eastern European links?
We seem to continually hear these stories but never see anything tangible.
