Gayle would be missing piece ....

I doubt it will happen but Dwight Gayle would be the perfect signing for us i think. Apparently we made a derisory bid this morning which was instantly rejected so it seems obvious Sherwood is adamant to get a striker in before the deadline. Gayle is a proven goal scorer and the fox in the box we have not had in years. For 7 odd million we should just go and get him, however to me it seems Lerner has closed the purse strings this summer

dont think he would offer Villa anything tbh

Lescott is a good signing tho imo

Unless something major happens in the next hour i can't see us letting Gayle go tbh.
We've sold Murray to Bournemouth and to let another striker leave without replacing at least one of them would leave us very short up front.
I think all of our business is done tbh.................. but there's still an hour to go

Dwight's a very good finisher but he needs to play off of another striker. We play 1 up front.
Personally i thought it would've been a good move for both parties

We signed Riccardo Calder on loan from you guys yesterday. Any insight into what to expect from him?

Don't think we really need Gayle. If he was that good why are Palace selling him. He's hardly a Benteke replacement. I'd rather see us try to get the best out of Kozak, Gestede or Ayew. And play Sinclair in a more central position.

If we could have got Adebayor I'd have gone with it, because he's a class striker when he wants to be. Likewise I'd go with Berbatov.

Don't think Gayle is what we need. Can't argue with the business done overall.

Adding Lescott today was a very good piece of business. I am surprised WBA let him go.

To say what a bad start we had losing Benteke & snake, Sherwood has done very well. All credit, we probably have had as good a transfer window as any team.

Don't know much about the lad from Livetpool.

Sorry to the Dundee fan, I don't know much about the lad you had off us.

Looks Berbatov is a no go; wage demands too high, according to the B.Mail.

Not too unhappy with the front line as it is. OK Gestede and Ayew still need to show they can do it, but it's early days yet, very early in fact in Ayew's case, and we need to be patient; Ayew's just scored the winning goal in Congo v Ghana, and it was a cracker. With Gestede other players need to get used to playing to his strengths; he and Sinclair are the only attackers we've got who seem to know how to head a ball.
