I looked at the deal to loan out Markovic with a bit of concern. Should we really be shipping out a £20m pound player on loan within a year and in particular to a club that isn't in our league.
So I looked into how many players that are loaned out by any of the bigger clubs go onto to consistently play in their first team.
For us, it is just Origi (who wasn't necessarily loaned out through choice and not likely to start) and Ibe (who still probably can't be considered a 'starter').
Other Clubs:
Chelsea - Courtois
City - Hart
United - None
Arsenal - Gibbs, Bellerin, Ramsey, Wilshere
Tottenham - Walker, Rose, Alli, Mason, Townsend, Kane
Out of that lot there's probably only 5 or 6 confirmed successes the rest perhaps have a little more convincing to do. At those numbers you have to wonder what the point is for youngsters transfering to the country's bigger clubs if they are simply planning on loaning you out first, particularly if you're not going to North London.
Does sending out players on loan really benefit players or should youngsters simply have the quality to break into the first team if they have a future at the club?
Are Loans Worth It?

Look at Sturridge's loan to Bolton?
Scored a hat full and I wanted him when Torres went!

I don't think it's a good sign but many shout me down. We'll pick up a couple of loan fees then sell him for the difference I would have thought.

Whats lad like we have loaned from you it seems?

Better than having him stagnating on the bench losing confidence value and us paying the wages. He does well and his value doesn't plummet we save on wages and get a loan fee.
We have too many players and the lad has zero confidence in Marko example

Loans are a big part of the finances of football these days.
We spent another shed load of cash in the summer and remember we are barely making a profit.
We need to get some of that money back in wages/loan fees. Its no good to us to have highly paid players only making 10 appearances a season because they not near the team.
With U21's coming through I don't think loans mean they won't make it. Plenty nowadays go on loan as a good practice for them in playing mens football to a good standard.
Its not a good sign for a lad you spent £20m on though. He should be good enough to be playing 30 games for us minimum, and the fact that Rodgers no longer thinks he is says more about Markovic than it does the rest of the squad. Its not like our squad is amazing.

Quick, good on the ball. Injury prone (strains and pulls). He has never played in our first team so difficult to give a clear expectation level. He has some ability but I'd be quite surprised if he plays regularly for you.

Will Ilori get much game time with Richards and Lescott surly first choice CB?

BR is really poor in the marketplace
We've just seen Mario go, now LM, both big signings at a time when BR should have been strengthening the first team
The first priority in any club is always the first team, get that right and then you can buy some 'potential'
BR has literally wasted £200 million. The only reason he's getting a relatively easy ride is the LVG & United nonsense
For the money he's spent BR has not actually as things stand improved the first 11 at Anfield whether by signing or coaching and bringing through young players
However you break it down he has failed. He got lucky with the front 3 a couple of years back but lost the plot and started planning for a future his lack of focus on the first 11 would mean he won't be around to see

I hope he rams it down your throat absolute.
Do you even enjoy football?
To say he has not brought through youth is truly laughable.
I ask you one question.
Of the top four teams which one do you think we should be coming above and why?

Last season we could have finished above United, no?
