FINALLY, the transfer window is over now, none of that media rubbish of linking us with Pogba everyday, we can now put the window behind us and focus on the football and get back on track. But how did we do with our transfers?
We missed out on a CB and a DM personally, I know we signed Papy, but come on, we went from Varane, Stones, Laporte to him and Hector. I would of kept Hector and given him a chance. I haven't seen Papy play but reviews aren't positive. He will provide cover for Zouma, Terry and Cahill. Baba is anonymous as well, reviews have been pretty decent, just hope he can get into the team with Azpilicueta moving right back as Ivanovic has been horrendous.
Pedro for £19m, a steal, brilliant signing. Falcao? A low risk, loan deal, if he fires, great, if not then we move on. Begovic? Decent back up. Kennedy looks like a exciting prospect.
Begovic: 7/10
Papy: (Can't judge)
Baba: (Can't judge)
Kennedy: 8/10
Pedro: 9/10
Falcao: 6/10
There were a lot of fans hoping for a defensive midfielder due to Cesc being missing since January now. But we didn't and that can only be good for one man: Ruben Loftus-Cheek. I really hope he gets a proper opportunity along with Traore and Kennedy as both Moses and Cuadrado have been loaned out. It's now or never for these players, they will not get a better opportunity now. If after this season, RLC break into the 1st XI, Kennedy and Traore have a good impact and let's say Falcao goes back to Monaco and we bring back Bamford into the fold then it would be happy days. But unfortunately, you never know with Mourinho.
It might not be the summer that everyone was hoping for as we left it way too late but there are always positives.
Summing up the Transfer Business

The general consensus by opposition fans seems to be that we've had a terrible transfer window but I don't understand why.
Pedro and Begovic are excellent signings without doubt and in Kenedy I think we might have a future star on our hands.
I don't know anything about our new LB but if he's half decent then it will allow Azpi to switch to RB instead of Ivanovic and that can only be a good thing as Brana is woefully out of form.
Also Falcao got his all important first PL goal with us last weekend and despite that getting played down due to the loss it can only be a good thing that Falcao is now off the mark.

I don't think we needed another CB but we have one in Papy and hopefully he'll be a decent backup.
We could of course have done with a new CM but I'm going to assume that Loftus-Cheek will get plenty of game time this season.
If that happens then it fully justifies not splashing out tens of millions on a new CM.
If however Loftus-Cheek doesn't get plenty of game time then I for one will be a very unhappy camper.

My view on our signings, using the "if he signed for Liverpool" test
Pedro - good signing
Pappy - won't be any good
Baba rahman - won't make the cut
begovic - decent signing
kennedy - flop
falcao - over the hill. Flop

I have a feeling that this season ,Jose will be more liberal with his game time for the young guns ie RLC,Kenedy ,Traore Baba etc.It could well turn out to be a transition season, with certain older players (JT for example)making way , but consequently because of this ,we will not be so successful or consistant this year .

Pogba was never on, for various reasons.
Stones was but held against his will.

kennedy - flop
------------------------
From what little I've seen of him he has incredible close control of the ball, possibly better than anyone else in the squad.
If he flops it could only be because he wasn't given sufficient game time or played in the wrong position like LB.

Stones was but held against his will**
You'll both get over it pal - I think Stones might get over it first but no hard feelings eh
