Insightful comments by nasri

The France international insisted it was the right time for him to leave, tellingĀ "l'Equipe": "Yes, it was [the right time to leave], there are sure signs.
"The departure of Cesc to Barcelona is one of them.

The defeat against Birmingham in the League Cup final was very harmful for the minds.

"Arsenal remains a big club, but the building of Emirates Stadium changed a lot of things. It has changed the ambitions, so far. But it is not Arsene Wenger, it is the club's politics, the officials.

"Arsenal doesn't have the same funds. They can't make the same coups as before in the transfer market. They are rather forced to sell their best players and bet on young ones."

Sounds as if the board are pulling the strings in the transfer policy.
The same board that got rid of david dean, because he wanted to introduce stan kroenke to arsenal so we could compete and be on a level playing field. But the board didn't like him or his idea so they got rid, only to turn to kroenke later on while dean pushed usmanov in to the club.

I know it's more satisfying and convenient for us to call Nasri a mercenary, but i honestly think he didn't move for the money. So many factors emphasise that.

He promised Gervinho he would stay, but when he saw the lack of signings, he was convinced he should leave.

He spoke only last season about how arsenal have a better squad than any other team in the league.

Only last season he had a go at City for trying to buy the league.

He gave an interview last season saying how close we are to winning the title, and we 'only need a couple more additions' to get us to that level.

So I think, honestly, he was convinced by the clubs lack of ambition, lack of spending, and the departures of cesc + his good mate, Clichy.

You may think it's insightful, I think Nasri is a little pr...k.
Sure Arsenal can't compete with Manchester City. Who can? This is what football has come to. As 'Arry ' said, 'it's only a different shirt' and an extra £90,000 a week. Plus a nice little earner for Daddy and the agent.
This isn't just Arsenal's problem, it's shared by Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle and the rest.
These remarks by Nasri were not necessary. Like Abedayor, no class.

It's pure greed actually. They are all extremely wealthy sportsmen. Some though, not all, are just greedy little &^%&^%&^

Nasri left for money in the end. He had apparently met Ferguson in the summer and wanted a United move but they would not pay the agents fees. Then CIty offered money and the same thing was happening so he tried to resurrect the United deal and was told to GFH!!
You should give him all the boos and jeers you can muster when you play them.
Was at the game and even as a United fan I felt sorry for Wenger and the fans (to a certain degree!). Anyhow as Fergie has said Wenger will get you back winning when a few of your injuries and suspensions are back.
I do think you will come 4th or 5th however.
Gervinho looks like a very good buy and Frimpong look useful but as you all know you need a Parker type of midfielder now.

By the way off thread subject but was Vieira offered a coaching role at Arsenal? If I was an Arsenal fan I would be really disappointed that he has chosen to stay at City. Does this dampen your respect to him as an Arsenal legend ?

"was Vieira offered a coaching role at Arsenal?"

Not sure, that certainly the rumour.

"Does this dampen your respect to him as an Arsenal legend ?"

No.

If Vieira was offered a coaching role and he too chose the riches of Citeh, yes it reduces my respect for him as a legend. I expect people like Bergkamp, Vieira, Henry, even Lehmann to behave in a certain way towards Arsenal.
