Whats the incentive? Ballin D'Or? Tracks back without fouling more than 5 times in the season?

It's admirable Wenger's stand on transfers. However, sometimes you have to take a chance and invest in order to improve. When he first went to Arsenal. he inherited a back five but bought a lot of good players for the midfield and forward positions. Maybe they were bargains but he invested and the team thrived.
