Our average net spend in the last decade...

... is about £10m - so £8.2m is actually pretty average - Wenger doesn't often 'find value' in the market and never has

I read on sky Podolski deal can rise to £10.7M if all incentives are reached so it could be another summer where we break even

It's admirable Wenger's stand on transfers. However, sometimes you have to take a chance and invest in order to improve. When he first went to Arsenal. he inherited a back five but bought a lot of good players for the midfield and forward positions. Maybe they were bargains but he invested and the team thrived.
