Morning all,
Was at the game yesterday, sitting in block 35 with all the 1882 guys and it really was a brilliant evening.
Don't know how many on here listen to the Fighting C*ck or support the 1882 movement but I would really encourage everyone to get involved. Who knows, we may even end up with a designated singing section at the new stadium.
The problem at home games this season is that the atmosphere has been getting worse and whilst in a few games there will be pockets of singing, the 1882 games are great in getting a group of fans together who want to sing for a whole game. Was a real party atmosphere last night and it just made the game so much more enjoyable.
Anyway, thoughts on the game...
Must start off by saying Qarabag were no mugs and played pretty well I'd say.
Their number 9, 10 and 20 were all decent and they probably could've had a few goals.
Overall though we had too much for them and won a game we all knew we'd win. Probably why no one cared when they scored their pen.
Lloris - 6 - Nothing to do really but did well when he had to of course.
Trippier - 5 - Wasn't great but it's his first game in a new team, will improve
Alderweireld - 6 - Few good tackles, pretty solid
Wimmer - 6 - Played it safe, looked composed, pretty solid again
Rose - 5 - Was pretty shaky but again that's only his second game, I'd like him to start against Palce for balance
Dier - 6 - Not much to report, did his job. Hope he isn't injured, best player this season
Carroll - 6 - Looked tidy and even did well winning the ball back a few times. Could've been better with through balls
Townsend - 5 - Poor
Dele Ali - 8 MOTM - Love him, so classy, so strong
Lamela - Poor but for the goal
Son - 8 - Great on the ball and great link up too
Highlight of the night for me though was the Josh Onomah song to the tune of Mahna Manah from the Muppets. Genius.
1882, ratings, etc etc.

Lloris 6 - Didn't do much
Trippier 5 - Gave ball away cheaply few times, didn't do much going forward
Alderweireld 6 - Solid apart from one dodgy pass I remember
Wimmer 6 - thought he had a solid debut looks capable, good on the ball
Rose 4 - poor game didn't look up to it
Dier 5 - he's been good this season in DM but for me he needs to just be there to offer defence protection, you can't convert a natural CB into a box to box or playmaker, didn't look comfortable enough on the ball yesterday for me, especially against shoddy opponents
Carroll 7 - really impressed me considering his lack of playing time at the club. Always wanted the ball looking to create and made some good tackles.
Lamela 4 - the guy tries and looks to make things happen but his endless conceding of possession remains infuriating but not all entirely his fault
Townsend 3 - another annoying player, obvious there's a player there somewhere but runs into trouble, tries to take on the world and his decision making is poor.
Alli 8 - wow, what potential he has, great work rate, technical ability, cool head in possession and an eye for goal (would of scored yesterday had Lamela not nipped it to hit the post)
Son 7 - good home debut started off a bit wasteful and suspect but as soon has he got that goal you could see what confidence had done to him, started showing what he could do. Shame he didn't get the hat trick.

I don't think it helped the atmosphere that the website was showing the whole lower tier sold out, when it was obviously just season ticket holders that didn't bother to show up.
