And quite rightly he is getting a retrospective three match ban.
But where on earth were Gabriel's mates?
He was being given abuse like he never knew existed about family members he never knew he had - right into his ear from 10 centimetres and not one Arsenal player came to help him.
"Don't react or Costa will squeal like a pig and you will get a red" is all it would have taken.
Only when he was shown a red and he wanted to nut the peasant did anyone step in to stop him.
Where was our Captain? Who was the facking Captain today?

I've already written about this but I will give my true opinion. Costa's hands in face was enough for a red card but a yellow card was sufficient - it wasn't an elbow or violent conduct so red would have been harsh. Gabriel with a yellow had already been punished. A good referee would have just got on with the game at that point and nobody (except maybe Wenger - we all know he's a moan!!!) would have complained! Sensible referee, good game, a bit of common sense. To the letter of the law, Gabriel is a silly silly boy, in fact, probably one of the least intelligent footballers around for reacting the way he did. In the end referees, players, commentators and fans have to put things into perspective and get on with the game.
Cazorla made two yellow card challenges, the first cynical and the second very very late.
In the end the game will be remembered for the referee and nothing else.

Arsenal have no bottle and very little intelligence. Mr Costa wummed his way around the pitch and committed no serious crimes, yet still provoked such violence in response - which won his team the game.
Mourinho will be laughing his head off whilst Wenger will be crying to the mods (FA) in the hope of saving a bit of face.
Same old same old.
