Sorry if I'm way behind things here.... but does anyone know what the deal is with Rafa's injury?
I avoided most of the boards/football media in general directly after the game, so may have missed something.
But I was just reading another article that mentioned it's a groin tear which could see him out for several months. Is that the case?!?!

The article a few down from this about Redknapp contains a link to an article that claims it's a groin tear and he's out for months!
Admittedly it's just a blog, so it doesn't carry too much credibility in that sense, but it does worry me a bit.
As always, THFC keep us bang up to date with the latest injury situations...

I know it's a cliche but this could be a blessing in disguise. We might get more balance back with VDV out. He wants to be at the heart of things and it at times becomes too central. Perhaps it will breathe more life into our wingers?

Absolutely spot on, Spurtle. Rafa is everywhere! Why does he have to take corners if he is not able to deliver them properly! HR thinks Rafa is his best signing but I strongly doubt it. Look at Liverpool without Gerrard, for instance - now they don't need him actually and their game has reached a higher level, a true team effort.
IMO Kranchar also shares responsibilty for the awful start as this guy does not seem to want to progress in any way. He lacks elementary vision always going for glory and does not care which club he is playing for, Didn't he ask for a substitution after half hour or so?

I really can't see how losing one of our most influential players can be seen as "a blessing in disguise". Yes, maybe if we play 4-4-2 we lose some balance if VDV is in the team. But with Adebayour up front, surely VDV is exactly who we want tucked in behind him.

It's no secret that VDV has come in and changed the dynamics of the Spurs team, as much as he's done a good job for us. I think we should be playing to our strengths more which for us would be our pacey wingers. If VDV being out means we can bring Bale and Lennon more into play then it won't be a bad thing.
