Are you telling me that the casuals turn up for domestic level fights, or non-world title fights? Pretty sure the last time I watched one of those there were thousands in attendance and probably the same amount watching on tv.
Casuals don't bring money into boxing.. all they do is line the pockets of the two guys fighting in a mega fight, along with their promoters. None of that money trickles down to grass roots.
Its the true boxing fan who keeps the sport alive. The reason there are more turning up to box in Britain now is a combination of government funding and recent British success at the Olympics and world level in the pro game. It's got toss all to do with Joe Public who only watches one or two fights of a boxer's career
As I said.. fvck them

And less of the "idiot" name calling.. Especially when you don't know what you're talking about.

first of all if your really offended by the term idiot then boxing is maybe the wrong sport for you i would think the term "junkie" is more offensive, but hey sorry i never knew you were so touchy....
and to the point no the casuals are not interensted in domestic fights. You have totally missed the point, the reason they are casuals is cos the sport is not popular enough.... the more we can get casuals involved the more popular and in turn the less "casuals" there will be as the sport bocomes more mainstream. Thats why sports like football are so rich cos it has the "casual" crowd everyweek. The more casuals that boxing can bring over to be full time boxing fans the better and its profile fights like this. Case and point was proved when i spoke to the two casuals in work and they knew the Klitchko/Fury fight is happeneing. We all started as casual boxing fans at somepoint til that one definning fihgt whatever it would have been turned us.
ya junkie bassa ...(dont be to offended by that its just a joke !)

Casual fans are only interested in KO's.. and a lot of fights don't end in knockouts. How many casual fans were writing boxing off after Mayweather schooled Manny? And these are the clowns that end up lining Mayweather's pockets as they're pulled in by hus hype. I got into boxing through my old man so not all boxing fans start out as casuals.
It's not just the Mayweather fight though. I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to defend boxing when watching it with pals, just because a fight has gone past 5 rounds. That's your casual fan for you.
It's the reason UFC blew up in such a short space of time.. it had a reputation for brutal KO's.
I enjoy a sweet knockout as much as the next person but boxing is about more than that and casual fans don't care or appreciate that. It's not stopped me trying to get all my mates into boxing as much as I am but most don't wanna know.
As for the idiot comment.. I'm hardly offended by it.. it's just weak when you're trying to argue a point but have to resort to name calling as you have nothing else.

It's all irrelevant now anyway. Fight's off so there goes Fury's payday
