Wenger should just Shut Up.
Everytime Martial scores, it is like a slap on his face.

Do you really think that?

Martial may go on to be an excellent signing, but at some point given his age and inexperience at 1st team level, he will go through a bad patch this season I'm sure, it happens.

And where would be then - people complaining that Wenger spúnked £36m/£58m (depending on who you believe) on a relatively unproven youngster and had piled the pressure and expectation on him to be our striking saviour.

I'm as critical of Wenger as the next person, but if we were to have come close to equalling or exceeding our transfer record then it should be on a proven quality player.

The fact we criminally underinvested in the summer would not have been repaired by spending a vast sum on a player like Martial.

I don't disagree of what you said. Good points.
What I don't like is, he said this kind of stuffs for too many times... "I followed such and such, but did not get him because..."
Every player he mentioned he missed out, was a great player. You won't hear he say something "I followed Yaya Sanogo since he was a kid but I opted not to get him because he is not good enough"...

Really no point to say he miss this or he did not miss that. Do the talking on the field.

We all don't know if Martial will succeed and his true value at this point, but one thing is pretty sure. We have the money. If we can't get the "proven player", why not find a talent, invest on him and make him a great player??
Even Wenger himself admitted, Martial is a talent.
You can be either active, or proactive.
When will a WC striker be available in the market, fit our budget and willing to come to us? God knows... That's why we are in this "waiting" game for such a long time.

In all fairness i think its out of Wengers hands mate, by the sounds of it Wenger does a lot of window shopping knowing he cant always have the money, a bit like me looking through the window at a Gucci watch and her in doors refusing to let me buy it.

_______________

It's a really good point actually. Do you wait another 5 years for a world class striker that fits the criteria then spend 35m on him. Or do you instead spend that money on the best young striker around and help him become world class in those 5 years? It's early days, but from what I have seen Martial could be classed as being in the world class bracket within 5 years, perhaps sooner. In the meantime we appear to have a very talented young striker who is already contributing to the team. And to honest, I think he is quite likely better than Giroud already. So why not just buy him?

Do you think martial was the best young striker around before you bought him?

Hell yeah of course he was, its just nobody knew it!!

It's a bit like Welbeck becoming world class when in the eyes of some Arsenal fans when he signed for them.

__________

I didn't say he is the best young striker around and I had no idea who he was before we signed him. It is what LVG and our scouts and coaches believe that is important, or Wenger and his staff in your case. LVG said that we paid the money because he is the best of his age and so I have to trust in that. Time will tell but so far so good.
