What do you think the pros and cons of him playing for us have been ?
Did we really need him or did we need a different type of midfield player ?
Will he improve or have we seen his level already ?
Personally I am not so sure we needed him. He is a decent steady player who does an Ok job but I wanted us to get more of a box to box all action type of midfield player who offers a bit more.
We do however have good midfield options now if not great and signing Basti has been a great deal and enables him to rotate with Carrick and rest either at times which is needed.
Morgan Schneiderlin ?

decent but I want him to express himself more and make some runs into the box
wether LVG allows that is another thing

He did a fair few tactical fouls yesterday which I was impressed with.Cutting short Sunderlands few counter attacks.
Think he should played ahead of Herrera in our next CL match.

He's been ok, but I know for a fact he's better than what he's shown so far. I reckon he'll improve.

bastian expresses himself, so does carrick etc. it's probably more to do with being at a big and new club.

yeah i really dont get this stupid argument that LVG doesn't allow anyone to be adventurous. we've been quite attacking when needed
horses for courses as they say

Of course you need him. He's quite good at what he does, he's not there to grab the headlines. What he doesn't know he can learn from the 30-somethings in Carrick and Schweinsteiger, two vastly experienced and quality midfielders who've played at the top level for numerous years and in countless big games.

and the improvement we saw against Sunderland makes this a great signing for us.

Is it me, or did he give away an awful lot of free kicks v Sunderland?
His passing isn't there yet either.
Good to have a physical presence in midfield, but we've not seen the best of Morgan yet.

Tactical fouls.Very underated and somewhat missed when you see the game as a whole but they're a important aspect of it.
Think Neville mentioned it alot concerning Chelsea and City last year.
