I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but Lewis Hamilton this whole season has talked about wanting to match Senna's 3 World championships. He also feels the "baton has been passed" onto him after matching Ayrton's 41 race wins. He's forever talking about how blessed he feels racing around <insert circuit name> like his hero Senna did.
It's plain to see his inspiration and hero is Ayrton but is he going a little OTT? Instead of wanting to become Senna mk2 shouldn't he concentrate on being Hamilton mk1?
Cringy Hamilton?

It's pretty harmless and quite humble.
Perhaps that's what the 'batton comment' was about.
He is certainly his own man and a very capable driver though.

Nothing wrong with it. Clearly feels honoured and humbled to have past that record

Don't see much wrong with his comments and viewpoint.
Nice that there are a few sportsmen around that show a bit of humility these days.

People just seem to take umbrage to everything Hamilton does, not referring to the OP.
They seem him dancing at a carnival - outrage
He hangs out with celebrities - outrage
He overtakes his team mate aggressively - outrage
He says, save my engine for the next race - outrage
He lives in Monaco - outrage
He has tattoos - outrage
He dyed his hair - outrage
He sprayed champagne on the paddock girls - outrage
All these things are done and have been done by other drivers but for some reason, his actions provoke people.

He doesn't really provoke people, he's just more well known in mainstream media.
Lewis Hamilton has managed to do something that only a handful of sports stars ever do.
He's not just an F1 driver, he's a celebrity, and unfortunately that's how the tabloids treat him.

It isnt him banging on about senna necessarily, its the media always ask him the question.
Fairplay, the guys got a hero,

in regards to the "celebrity lifestyle" Bernie has officially fallen in love with Lewis the amount of publicity he is giving the sport to the more casual fans is like something we havent seen since senna days. He is a breath of fresh air for F1 and sells it massively. Before you even talk about him being the quickest guy on track
