Hello good people, I am back!! My apologies for not spamming you with race threads but I have been a bit distracted. I enjoyed the return to form by Mercedes and the masterful drive by Lewis although Bernie did not let us watch him
So I thought it would be a good to do a fall out of the GP and spice it up with some news.
Unlike many folk, the dominance of Mercedes, does not bother me, it did not bother me when RedBull, Ferrari, etc., did it because F1 is also a sport about Engineering and rather than sneer at the dominance, I appreciate the hard work that went in to make the car so dominant. For the drivers’ championship, I would like a challenge; I agree but will not begrudge anyone their right to dominate the sport. What I take exception to is people being called the greatest of all time when their team mates are not allowed to compete against them (coughs, Seb)
So, where do I start?
Alonso – in typical fashion, the Matador was crying on the radio and his petulance is there for all to see. It is unfortunate he has still not grown up. I do note however that the reaction to him whining has not been castigated in many quarters unlike how it would have been if a certain Mr Hamilton did it
Team Fizzy Drinks – Another petulant whiny little girl. Lauda made it clear they never seriously approached them for engines and I was quite pleased Wolff and Mercedes refused to even consider their “request." The public criticisms of Renault make it abundantly clear why they are a useless partner for any engine manufacturer. Ferrari have got a massive battle on their hands to keep them happy
Rosberg – What can one say about Nico, Hamilton has truly done a number on him and for the good of the sport, Mercedes need to get Hamilton a better team mate as Nico is finished. Even Seb was teasing him at the press conference and is very close to him in the championship.
Team Lotus – Renault have taken over team Lotus and are making a welcome return to the sport as a works team. This is fantastic news, sadly they have retained the services of Crashtor but I would love it if Renault’s power unit became phenomenal next year.
Honda – well, what can I say, must do better
Button – Fair play to him for making McLaren sweat if out. He deserves better than he has been given and for the life of me, I cannot understand why Alonso is paid so much more than him.
In summary, we are coming to the end of the season and hopefully Russia throws up a few surprises and a safety car. Thankfully Pirelli have gone for the super softs and softs so we should see a better race and maybe Ferrari challenge the Mercs properly.
Now we have the following manufacturers in the sport with "works" teams; Mercedes, Renault, Ferrari and Honda and with rumours of VW group coming in, F1 is going to be fascinating and a special shout out to Verstappen, that kid is going to be immense.
Thank you for reading my inane ramblings

Interesting rumour going around that Button is gonna move to Renault (currently Lotus) in 2016 due to reports that Grosjean is moving to Haas.
I'd love to see Button alongside Maldonado. Maybe then Bernie can finally see the enormous gulf in class between a driver that earned his F1 seat and a driver that bought his way into the sport.

Nope, the story you heard about McLaren is false. Alonso demanded number 1 status at McLaren and even when Hamilton was faster like in Monaco, he had to tow the line.
Eventually the team realised that Hamilton was more than capable of matching Alonso, they let them race. Hungary is when the trouble started in earnest and who was behind it, Alonso. He was the one in possession of Ferrari docs as well and wanted to use them to force Ron to give him preferential status and Ron reported to the FIA about the docs in their possession.
Everywhere he goes, controversy follows, he even had the team break Massa's gear box to give him an advantage in Austin.
He is a poor excuse for a sports man

Now a done deal – watching for JB's next move with interest...

Not a chance, Bernie can't see much with all those dollar signs imprinted on his retina.
Love to be a fly on the wall when Lauda gets to talk to Bernie about TVgate.

""How much did he outscore Massa by in their years together there? I think it was over 500 points...""
But that is not representative of the drivers abilities, that is representative of their contracts.

Or probably both.

Massa beat Kimi with ease and is beating the highly rated Bottas
It is quite clear it was a contract thing.
Felipe, Fernando is "faster" than you

Look at their qualifying record then.

Ok Mudd, pointless debate because either your judgement is clouded or mine is.
