Lewandowski

The guy has scored 17 goals in 12 games for club and country this season. Messi only has 6 in 10. If there is any justice in the world we'll move heaven and earth to sign him this summer. He and Stones IMO would be the missing pieces of the jigsaw.

There was a time back in 2012 when it looked like we might get him. I wonder how things might have turned out if we did...

For example, Real didn't need the money for ADM, their best player in their CL final win but because we offered a huge amount they decided to cut their losses and sell.

They did.

...............

I was unaware Real were in financial trouble two years ago.

Please elaborate?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They'd just spent £60m odd on James.

Top clubs don't sell their top players whilst they still need them. Of those who've left Barca, Bayern and Real in the last 2/3 years, they've all been expendable. Bayern are loaded too, not too sure how much money you could throw at them to persuade them to sell.

Will never happen.

Madrid threw a ridiculous figure, think it was reportedly about €70M-€80M at Bayern for Ribery back in 09, the same off-season we signed Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso & co.

All things considered -stronger Euro, transfer market inflation, etc.-, I'd say that would equate to about 100M squid in today's market.

Bayern just told us to feck right off.

Bayern are on the same level as Utd financially and a bigger/better club on the pitch, probably one of the only clubs in the world that you can't cherry pick from.

8bit is that why Bastian Schweinsteiger left Bayern Municj for Man Utd 8bit and is targeting winning the CL?

Even Owen Hargreaves left Bayern Munich to win CL again.
