City have to do well in CL for Pellegrini to keep his job and that means their focus isn't as strong on in the league. Utd, they maybe top but no one is taking them serious but you can't write them off. Chelsea, we all know about.

Rotating for the two CL games so far should give hints into Wenger's thinking. Going out of Europe in first stage will free up second half of season. As Liverpool showed couple seasons ago, playing once a week can take you far.
Bayern next two games, most likely we'll end up with no points so that should theoretically pretty much rule us out of EL as well.
