Ya know what?

My missus doesn't know a great lot about football, doesn't even watch much. She has played a lot of netball and that sort of rubbish.

We were watching the game tonight and she said "Why do Liverpool use 3 men in a triangle to keep the ball against 1 or 2 opponents? Doesn't that mean that if they do break into space with the ball, they're outnumbered elsewhere".

Later on, she says, "What's the idea of trying to keep the ball like that? I thought you were supposed to try to score a goal".

I think she might make a better Liverpool coach than the incumbent. (That spelling was intended).

Disagree with this. The game is all about playing in triangles. Arsene Wengers sides, in particular the invincibles, used to do it to great effect. Break the game down into loads of triangles to play round your opponent, the key is how you move out of the triangle though. We do it at walking pace, which allows teams to set up and gets us no where. Arsenal used to explode out and move the ball at pace.

I think AW teaches triangular passes to move the ball around and forward. We appear to try to form closely positioned triangle just keeping hold of the ball but going nowhere until one of the players passes the ball out of the triangle. Wach them, it's scary

That I do agree with Curly

When you have the Welsh Xavi, Joe Allen, as your midfield playmaker, what the hell do you expect?

He gets a nosebleed if he passes forward and has the creativity of a comatose sloth. I have never seen a player make so many 'safe' passes in my life.

Let's put it into perspactiv.
It's either:

1- The players are sh!!te?
Well who bought them? Some say it was the"transfer committee and BR had little say - If that's true, he's not man enough for the job.

2 - It's square pegs in round holes, well ask yourself who's playing so many players out of position.

3 - It's tatics. Well who runs the training?

4 - It's about confidence and self belief, just stop worrying about her teeth and stop chasing women and concentrate 100% on what you're being paid a fortune for.

Which ever way you cut it, we can all see the problem.
