Let's do this ting!
So Liverpool are see-sawing between formations/systems.
What do Liverpool fans want to see? I looked at a poll on thisisanfield today. 90% of votes was sack Rodgers. I'm wondering what it is that 90% of Liverpool fans are hoping to see if Rodgers was to go. If this was his last game what would be the hope to see on the pitch etc from a new manager?
Is it some sort of consistency? An understanding behind who is playing and why? Who is bought and sold and why? Do we not like the 3-4-3/3-4-1-2/5-3-2 that we are playing these days? Would we rather see a consistent formation with consistent player choices? Obviously results are not going our way. A few season ago we finished 2nd. We had a great starting 11 and that was it. We had a system we played week in week out. From that team we have lost 3 of the key players. Another is in and out of injury. Flanagan hasn't appeared since.
That season was Rodgers's triumph. What has happened besides results - and if you can explain why the results have been bad, please do - that makes Rodgers no longer fit for purpose - bearing in mind 2 years ago we were 4 points off the title. A Gerrard slip away.
Please share your thoughts.
I'm interested to know.
What is it that we want/need from our team?

Fight. Fire in the belly. A singular and collective desire to get stuck in. And a donkey. I like donkeys. And sheep.

I'd just like us to be hard to score against and get our own players scoring more goals than 1 a game.
We have played some great football under Rodgers but he has had 3years now to get the team settled and performing. Seems like we are in constant flux and still in transition. It's just annoying especially when you see teams like Southampton, loads of new players, New manager and ripping up the league from the off. Ok the didn't win every game but they are not in transition.

What do we need? I world class striker. We were spoilt by having Suarez over the last few years.
Good teams score goals and lots of them. In my opinion the game has changed over the last 20 or so years, maybe since 3 points for win came in. Emphasis now is on winning both home and away...forget the old 'win at home, draw away' that used to be a benchmark. To do this you need to build your team from the front nowadays. Of course you need a balance but for me, the biggest outlay needs to be on your strikers. Who do we buy? No idea but he has to be good.
I reckon you can win things and compete with OK players in certain areas. But it is vital you have a few big hitters in there in Key positions....a great keeper, a great CB, a great CM and a great striker...especially a great striker. Anything else is a nice to have but you have to get your key men in, pay them properly, and build round them.
We have lots of the OK players. In a nutshell, we need a couple more world class players but it's tough to get them...lots of other teams with lots of money to spend. No good keep buying OK players cos all you will get is OK results and an OK league position.

We need cohesion, a plan, signings that fit into that plan, players playing to their maximum, not out of position and out of form.

Most of last season and this season, you know that we if score and lead we dont hold onto the lead for long,or if we are behind its like an uphill struggle.
We need a leader/organiser at the back, along with a defensive coach.
We play players out of position and dont play to their strengths, like putting firmino on the wing when he should play behind the striker. Can in defence etc etc.
We cant always play through the middle. When fit Benteke should be getting service out wide as well and our only real winger ibe is off the boil at the moment and markovic loaned out.
Its time for change and for me it should be klopp, new tactics that have worked against european opposition, brings new players through and can win trophies.
If klopp had been in charge as long as rodgers at Liverpool, would we have won some trophies and be pushing for a top four place, imo yes.

Klopp or Rodgers or Jesus wouldn't matter, we would still have lost Suarez sturridge gerrard sterling and we would still have no trophies

Liverpool need a consistent starting 11 with strength in every area. We have strong players but in all of the same positions. Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana all play as a centre attacking midfield as there strongest positions and are arguable 3 of Liverpool's best players. Lallana is constantly placed on the bench when he should be a first team starter like he was at Southampton. Firmino is being played in positions he isn't used to. What Liverpool need is a clean up but who do they sell? Coutinho is too valuable, Lallana is just entering his prime years with a lot to offer still and Firmino is only a recent signing with potential to show. Also a consistently good keeper is needed. Mignolet is an absolute beast every other game but hasn't got the consistency of de Gea, Cech or Courtois.
